Contemplating performance mods...

Hello. I have a 2015 terrain slt2 v6 slt2 with 110000 miles. I was wondering if anyone here has installed a trifecta tune and or a magnaflow exhaust on the 3.6. If so I would be interested in your opinion as to the performance gains. Thanks.

I’ve got Magnaflow cat-back, K&N CAI system, and IPF tune on my ‘15 V6. Here are my track results:

…I just crossed 180K miles…I’ve debated having a “going back to stock” sale…my only issue is whoever wants my exhaust would need to be able to trade + cash their stock cat-back…I sold mine. I’ve already got a ‘98 Z28, and I’ve had my deposit down on a C8 for 8 months now, so not sure what I’m going to do with my Nox once the C8 gets here…not really sure I need 3 cars…

Thanks for the info. Those certainly are impressive 1/4 mile times. Did you happen to run it before the mods?

No. I bought my Nox in Dec of ‘14 and installed all the mods in the first few months of ownership…

I might be interested in a trade if you are willing. The factory exhaust on mine is undamaged and in good condition. How much would you be looking for? Thanks.

I’ve got the Magnaflow 15148 cat-back that retails for right at $900 new, and the K&N 77-3078KTK CAI which is $400 new…
I don’t know…maybe around $500 + stock exhaust for BOTH and we just do the swap/install in my driveway in Macon, GA. I don’t need the stock air box, I still have mine…. Both of those products are only listed as fitting the ‘10-‘12 3.0 V6 by their manufacturers, but they also fit the 3.8 V6 with no modifications!
Whether you’re interested in mine or not, PM me your number and I can shoot you a video of what my combo sounds like.

Can't speak on the exhaust or intake, but I would highly recommend the Trifecta tune.

Thanks. Does it feel like you truly gain 20 horsepower or so?
Absolutely!...off the line acceleration is vastly improved and every day driving feels like there is more juice. Trans re- mapping improved the shift points as it doesn't want to automatically down shift as much. I'm using 91 octane in my tank which will enable the most out of the tune.
I looked at the magnaflow cat back setup for my 15 Terrain, I hate that saggy diaper muffler lol. They're out of stock at the moment but plan on doing it to mine when available. I have the 3.6 also but haven't found a cold air intake, apparently K&N only makes it for the 4 cyl models and not the V6 Terrains.

My research indicates the Magnaflow is actually discontinued. However, K&N DOES have a CAI for the V6. Check my model numbers listed above (post #7). I can verify that even though it’s only listed as fitting the ‘10-‘12 3.0 V6 it ALSO fits the ‘13-‘17 V6. I’ve got one on my ‘15!
…also added a pic of the Magnaflow…

That's a bummer, I did the Email thing if it comes back in stock. Your part numbers are not what my Terrain uses. On the K&N site I typed in mine and they were all for the 4cyl.

I PROMISE you if you have a ‘15 Terrain w/V6, the K&N 77-3078KTK fits. I did all this research back in ‘15. Both the K&N and Magnaflow exhaust is only listed as fitting the ‘10-‘12 Terrain, but the ‘15 Equinox and Terrain are identical mechanically, and the air intake set up and exhaust set up did NOT change from ‘10-‘17 on the V6. However, the exhaust tips did change on the Terrain in ‘16 I believe, so if you have a ‘16 or ‘17 Terrain, you’d need to come with different tips for the Magnaflow to fit…but I think Magnaflow updated the tips and added a new model number if you needed one for a ‘16 or ‘17 Terrain.

Yes, I’m telling you the K&N website isn’t fully accurate…the pictures I posted are of it installed on my ‘15 V6 Equinox which it isn’t supposed to fit either…

Yea true, the 3.0 and 3.6 are pretty much the same and from your pic I can see we have the same plastic top. My biggest annoyance since lowering mine is the muffler so I was hoping there was cat back system. I've always liked magnaflow , I've used them on several vehicles.

The ‘10-‘12 V6 had an extra sensor the ‘13-‘17 eliminated. The original K&N part number was 3078. When they updated to the 3078KTK, they included the circled block off plate to block of that sensor. I actually purchased the original 3078 and I was missing the block off plate from the 3078KTK. I called K&N and they sent me the block of plate and o-ring at no charge.

It sits good in there. Does it sit on the factory brackets or were they supplied?
Everything needed is in the kit. Check out the instructions:

F, Z, and AA are the block off plate for the ‘13-‘17 Terrain/Equinox
Cool, going to order one next week. Glad I saw this thread, my tuner told me to find a COI for mine. Less restrictions in air flow helps a ton.
