Hello, for anybody who has rebuilt the 2.4 just wondering if anyone has any info on the connecting rod bolts. Specifically what you used and possibly where you got them. Or let me know if you have any experience re using these. Thank you.

Always replace torque to yield bolts on an engine teardown.
Connecting rod bolts are 18 lb.ft. plus 100 degrees.
Your dealer has the bolts for the stock connecting rods.

I always have hated that spec on rod bolts. Torque to a specific tightness or to get correct stretch I think. But going to an added rotation with the various bolts out there made who knows where and various conditions on rebuild seems to asking for trouble I think. But for sure use GM bolts and hope for USA made.

Yea I am going to replace them also but I agree they should really have a torque specific method. I will be keeping my digital torque wrench attached when I make the turns just to see what range they are in and yea I'm looking at trying to order them online somewhere.
