My apologies if this has been covered before, I have tried doing some quick google searching around and haven't been able to find a clear answer.

I was wondering I notice on my 2011 Equinox LT AWD it calls for the following fluid.
88869150 T-Case
88900401 Rear Diff

I was wondering if there was a better and or cheaper alternative or if i should just stick with what is listed in the manual?

What is the difference in me running the GM version vs buying the some brand that the auto part store sells for $10.

The only information I found was where someone mentioned that you would be able to run AmsOil severe gear 75-W90.
But on their website even it shows the same product for both the rear diff and the t-case. Which I figured there has to be a reason why GM is calling for two different fluids.
