Hi all,
I've found some conflicting information, so am posting here in hopes that I can figure this out. I'm going to be replacing the pads and rotors on the rear of my 2018 Equinox with an electric parking brake. Do I need to put the EPB into service mode to do this, and if so how is that done? I don't have a GM scan tool.
Thanks.

I‘ve replaced the rear pads twice on my 2018 (just broke 80Kmi) and did not place the EPB in service mode either time. Take your time when rotating the pistons back into the calipers and you shouldn’t have any issues.

Here is a pretty decent tutorial on the process. It has a possible work around for the EPB service mode if necessary.

Thanks for the link, I was actually just looking at that yesterday. I'm just trying to figure out whether putting the EPB in service mode will or won't be necessary. Just don't want to break anything!
