I have synced up my iphone and now how do i dial by name? When I try to add a name tag, it says not available

Next question:
Can this car do bluetooth streaming of audio from phone? I asked the sales guy and he said yes but i think he lied to me

thanks

Say "help" when you are prompted to say a command to hear all the options. You have to add names to your directory in the truck's computer before it will call them.

As far as Bluetooth streaming, nope. Mine will come through the speakers when I get a text or a phone call but that's it.

From what I learned about this feature, some select 2010 Equinox models can stream audio via bluetooth (mine can), but the feature seems to have been deleted in the 2011s. These vehicles have what's called a Multimedia Player Interface Module (MPIM) which allows streaming. The RPO code is KTA or KTB.

Make sure you are paired. Turn on the phone via the steering wheel. Then say "Store" Then it will ask the phone number and go from there.

I hadn't heard about that with 2010's. It's *supposed* to be in the 2012's, to stream pandora, but the current 2012's out there don't have that option. I think they are supposed to add it later.

I do not believe that streaming music via Bluetooth is an available feature for the 2011 and older model vehicle. If you have further questions please feel free to contact me. Thank you.

well this guy is doing it as mentioned in the link provided by nuclear

As requested, here's instructions on how to stream music through the Infotainment system using a Bluetooth device. As I mentioned before, your Equinox/Terrain needs the Vehicle Interface Package and your device needs to conform to A2DP standards for streaming.

1. Press AUX on the radio (or connect an iPod device to the USB port to put the radio into AUX mode).
2. Press MENU/SEL on the radio and you should see the BLUETOOTH MUSIC SETUP MENU (first picture).
3. Scroll down and select CONNECT TO NEW DEVICE.
4. You will then be asked if you are trying to connect to a mobile phone with audio streaming. Select Yes (second picture). (If you select No, you will be given additional options for devices to connect, such as a Bluetooth Media Player.)
5. Set your phone to search for Bluetooth devices. It should find GMusicConnect (third picture). Select it on your phone, then select OK on the radio.
6. Enter the PIN given by the radio into your phone (fourth picture).
7. Once connected, start the media player on your phone.
8. You should hear the media being played through the radio.

Let me know if this works for you. I have a 2010 Equinox with the standard radio (no nav), and I'm assuming the 2011 Equinox/Terrain will be similar.
Now how do i find out if i have the above mentioned option?

AMG Eric,

See this thread:

If you have the Multimedia Player Iterface Module, you should be able to stream Bluetooth as described in Reply #14.
Interesting, I didn't know that earlier models had the option of BT audio streaming.I still like using the iPhone via USB for my music, but that's a nice option for people that don't have an iPhone (or Zune, since is also fully supported ). And btw, I have used BT audio streaming in the other vehicle, and I find the sound quality and responsiveness a little buggy.
