Average wait time for order being placed

I placed my order with the dealership and I am still waiting for the order to be picked up (that is from the salesman, not sure what that means). It has been about 8 days and my order has still not been picked up or sent to GM.

So just curious what is the time people have waited for their order to be placed and given a production number?

I went to the dealership to place my order on Oct.29th
Then I got my order number 2 weeks later on nov 11th
on 11/19/2010 - (2000) Order Accepted by GM Dealer used allocation to place order into production
So it took 3 week for GM to pick up the order

Hhmm did they give you an order number or can they? We ordered ours on 12/20 and it was picked up just after holiday break 1/4.

Ah, that makes more sense.
Back in the day when special ordering a car, I learned that cars were built based on paint color. I don't know if this is still true, but they would have uns od red cars, white cars, black cars etc. Some delays may be encountered if the color you want id out of sequence.

We toured the NUMMI factory when I owned a Vibe, and the cars looked like a rainbow coming down the assembly line, so it is not true there, anyways !
