Thinking about pulling the trigger on a 2011 Equinox LS 4 cylinder. Any reason to wait for a 2012?

There was virtually no change between the 2010-2011 Nox (couple of new paint colors, flex fuel for the V6) and according to a guy on another forum that works at the CAMI factory there won't be any real changes until 2013...but even then likely to be cosmetic. If you can get a good deal on a 2011 there doesn't seem to be any reason to wait. (unless someone knows something I don't of course)
The largest change is the inclusion of the intelli link system. Google it.

Its the whole reason im waiting for 2012.

They changed the packages around for 2011. With the 2010, if you wanted things like the rear camera or power driver's seat, you could add them separately. For 2011, I guess GM figured they had the car-buying public hooked, so they just started combining things into fewer packages and forcing them down people's throats. I would've liked to have the rear camera on my 2011, but GM stuffed it into the "Driver's Convenience Package", which included the power driver's seat (which I didn't want). So no rear camera for me (or the remote start, which was also crammed into the D/C package).

Thanks GM !

Thanks. That's something to consider.

Will this new system be on all trim levels? Standard equipment for 2012?

He's looking at a base LS, and I assume he would do the same for a 2012 model..

You may want to look at the official info on the 2012's:

Thanks great link. The LS is keeping the existing radio. The new radio will be in all other 2012 trims. So if I'm sticking with the LS, the only significant change from 2011 to 2012 will be the 4 cylinder engine can run on e85. Not a big selling point for me - you can't buy e85 in Washington state. So maybe I'll jump on a 2011 if there is a promotion for June. Thanks all.
Do they keep updating that site with any new options that come available or is it pretty much set with what options are changing for 2012? We are really wanting an SS/Sport version or at least the 3.6L V6. I keep crossing my fingers.

I would think that the 2012 features are cast in concrete.

As far as an SS, I doubt if that'll be happening until gas prices plummet.
I like these:

UFU NEW! Audio system, AM/FM/XM stereo with CD player and MP3 playback capability, 7" color touch-screen display, Radio Data System (RDS), speed-compensated volume, auxiliary input jack and outside temperature display
1 - May be upgraded to (UEW) audio system with navigation. - standard on LT and LTZ

UVC Rear Vision Camera - standard on LT and LTZ

Not so good:

UD7 Rear Park Assist - only on LTZ

EAL Perforated leather-appointed seating
1 - Included and only available with (AFL) Jet Black, (AFM) Light Titanium/Jet Black or (AFN) Brownstone/Jet Black perforated leather-appointed seating.

I don't see a non-perforated leather. Does that mean no brownstone leather like I have now? If so :(

(R13) Chrome Appearance Package no longer available on 2LT

I think a SS package would be cool with the Ecotec 2.0 turbo with Brembo brakes.

Hmmm. With the LT getting the new touch-screen audio system and backup camera, I have to wonder if there will still only be a $1,000 or so price difference between the LS and LT. My guess is the 2012 LS will cost the same as the 2011 LS (to keep it the value leader) but the LT will go up in price by at least a thousand dollars for 2012. Again, just a guess.

Options and features are subject to change at any time. I would recommend continuing to visit the site for more updated information. Thank you.

Thanks and put in a good word for the 3.6L SS Version..... ;)
I just missed out on ordering an '11 2LT. I really like those 18" wheels on the '11 and it looks like they're changing for '12 . . . please tell me it isn't so!!!! The new ones are NOT an improvement imho. :-(

Wow. If you want 18" they are forcing you to go with chrome clad. That's surprising... that would mean that if you choose the V6 or LTZ trim you have no choice of 'plain' aluminum. What are they thinking?

Just picked up my '11 LTZ with the 18" wheels three weeks ago. Was considering waiting for the 2012's to come out, but after hearing I couldn't get cardinal red in '12, I found one on the lot with everything I wanted on it. Based on looking at the changes for '12, I am so glad I didn't wait! Definitely did not want chrome wheels, so I am very, very happy! Mileage for first tank 22.2. Mileage for second tank 24.5. Hoping the upward trend continues. :thumb:
When are the 2012 models expected to be available?
Please excuse my lack of knowledge, but about how soon after production starts would I be able to actually pick one up from my dealership? And are the Terrains scheduled for a similar release date or no?
