A/C always on under "Auto" setting

new 2013 Nox - still getting acquainted with various controls. Is there no way to run heat via auto setting on the climate control without the A/C being on? Would seem to be unnecessary other than cool humid conditions?

I've owed a few vehicles with climate control and that AC light is always lit it's how the system works in order to regulate the temperature you set. Even if you turn the AC off it will turn back on when you set auto again.

Just because the A/C light is on in Auto mode doesn't necessarily mean the compressor clutch is engaged. It will engage when necessary to adjust temperature in the vehicle, otherwise its in a "standby" mode. I've attached an operational description for the Auto system. It was written for the 2010 model year, but other years should be similar.

Read the owners manual.

The Auto and AC setting will always be lit at the same time as the system is in ready mode to turn the compressor on no matter if you have the AC on or defroster on.

The system works by temp not by just the AC setting. Just use it like you do the thermostat in the house.

Just push the A/C button so that it is off. The Auto light turns off as well, but everything other than the A/C is still running under Auto. I run my 2010 and 2012 Nox this way...and the compressor ever kicks on unless I want it too.

Hyperv6 is right. Don't worry about the AC light. Just hit auto and adjust the temp you want. Heat will kick on when desired. Everybody always freaks out that the AC light is on when you want the heat on. It's supposed to be that way.
