2020 Terrain Performance Question

The 1.5T is for China compliance. The 1.5 does require learning and experience to drive. Like Terrainray wrote, mashing from a stop doesn't do much. You want gradual pedal increase on a turbo. You want to increase pressure when the rpms are between 2000-4000 as that is where you have max torque. On the 6 in the Nox that means moderate pressure through 1-2. Then increase pressure in 3-4 to get more turbo pull. The 9 makes it more cumbersome since you are against a gear hunt. Partly probably why Toyota sticks to an 8 and GM opted for CVT and 8 in the next Nox.

That bulletin for the half shaft axles is possible. You are definitely in a 2020-2022. MPH you notice it is consistent. A dealer will have to reproduce and verify the cause.

What I don't understand is warranty coverage. In the 2020 GMC warranty booklet I don't see drive systems in the powertrain list. In the 2020 Chevy warranty booklet it specifically lists drive systems including axle shafts and bearings in the powertrain list. I find it hard to believe GMC specifically drops that coverage as a punitive thing.

See page 6 of the 2020 Chevy booklet.
Can't find the same coverage in the GMC booklet.

Thanks for this info. I think I'll call the GMC Customer Assistance Center noted in the manual @ 1-800-GMC-8782.
You are welcome to call anyone with questions but if you want to make sure you get the best treatment possible you should follow the normal process. Dealer appointment, diagnosis, hear coverage or not, discuss with service manager, then call GMC to verify or intervene. They will ask if you have been to a dealer. If you haven't even had diagnosis they will just help you make an appointment. Online forums and bulletins aren't diagnosis. Bulletins that seem to explain your issue are good info to have for discussion at the dealer but aren't a substitute for actual professional diagnosis.

The engine air filter is due at 45k but I usually change at 30k - fine.

The injector system cleaner they dump in the tank won't do much if you regularly use top tier fuel but it won't hurt anything - fine.

The brake fluid service is due at 5 years so if you bought summer-fall 2019, fine. Even if winter it's only a little early all good.

Interested in your diagnosis and will be watching.
