All things considered - I'd expect to see a pretty substantial price drop on the Nox/Terrain and some super lease deals. All in all, not impressed here.

I appreciate the contemporary design and features (LED's finally!), but I prefer the the sculpted look of the outgoing version. I also understand why they shrunk it down a bit, but I'm glad our 2016 is on the larger side. Wish our 2016 had that turbo-4 which, according to Buick Verano specs, produces 260lbs @ 2000rpms, compared to 272lbs @ 4800rpms of the 3.6 V6 in the 2016 Terrain.

All in all they did a good job on the 18 Terrain EXCEPT for the weird push button shifter. GM says it frees up console space and I can't argue with that but it seems they created a solution to a problem that didn't exist.

Oddly the 18 Equinox has the normal shifter.

I've been saying for years automakers should go back to column shift or go push button. Most auto shifters have no cable anymore, its just actuating electronics. So taking up console space with a large mechanical shifter is just for novelty.

I like the interior of the upcoming Terrain. Can't say I like the exterior. I was hoping for something a bit more tough looking. And the ridiculous high belt line and teeny back side windows are a fad I could do without, although I do understand it can help with crash safety. It's not bad, but not what I expected either.

That's an interesting point, my 2014 Equinox has a cable shifter.
I wonder if the 2018 Nox is going to keep the cable as long as they are keeping the mechanical shifter?
It might depend on which transmission you get.

Yes, not too sure how * professional grade * push button shifting is on this new Terrain.

Reminds a person of some old Plymouth. .

Mexico is the go-to country for vehicle manufacturing

VW, Audi, Mazda and Toyota have been doing it for years.

Anybody saw the price? The base is about 25k for SL. Then SLE is 27820. SLT is 31320. Then denali is 37520. AWD adds about 1800. Which means I think the Denali would probably be about 45k easily
