My daughter is considering the purchase of a 2015 Terrain with 134,000 miles on its 2.4 L engine. According to the dealership, the timing chain and rear main seal have both recently been replaced. My husband is going with her to look at it and test drive tomorrow.
Should she be wary of purchase?
What common issues should they look for while driving?
I read on another forum post that a gentleman had a “breather” on his oil cap (I believe that’s right lol) to prevent the rear main seal issue. Is that something that should be added?

My 15 Nox has 90,000+ miles on it so far just needed to replace the VVT solenoids. I did replaced the oil filler cap with a vented ACDelco fc219. Oil changes at 5k internal and fluids at recommended intervals. Spark plugs will be replaced when the weather gets better.

Keep your eyes on the oil level is a must. My Nox requires 1/4 quart of oil in about 3k miles, which is not bad.
