Has anyone successfully ordered and received a 2012 Terrain AWD SLT2? I am in Maryland, ordered mine 7-8 weeks ago, and just yesterday the dealer told me that the factory cannot make an AWD SLT-2 for my state because of emissions requirements. It was supposed to come in this week, not sure how my dealer did not know this earlier…and now of course he is trying to offer me a suitable substitute.

Anyway, it seems crazy to me that I cannot order a car for my state due to emissions. I can order an AWD SLT 1, but not an SLT 2.

Has anyone in the following states received an AWD SLT2: Arizona, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington? All those states have the same emissions requirements.

That just doesn't sound right at all...the Ecotec engine has been around for quite some time in one form or the other in various GM cars, and I haven't heard of any emissions issues. If you can buy one in California, you can buy one anywhere.

Thanks for your comments, I agree that it does not sound right, but I did find that on the online ordering guide ( sorry, not able to post entire link... //eogld.ecomm.gm.com) it appears that RPO code NE1 emissions for Maryland and other states has an asterisk for the SLT2 trim with the following note: "1 - Not available with TLM26 AWD models with (LEA) 2.4L DOHC 4-cylinder SIDI engine." I was able to get to this by going to the guide and going to "print book".

Anyway, I think I am resigned to an SLT1 with most of the SLT 2 features, including sunroof and powerlift gate. I am also compromising on the interior and exterior colors I wanted. I thought I would let anyone else know that ordered one in those states that they should talk to thier dealer.

It appears that these emission options are not available in the SLT-2 AWD models with the (LEA) 2.4L DOHC 4-cylinder SIDI engine. I would recommend contacting your local dealer for more information. Thank you.

Doesn't sound right. Although I don't have one, I have seen plenty of 2010-2011 AWD SLT-2's driving around NJ. Unless theres been some change to the emissions requirements in the last 6 months it doesn't sound right. Wondering if you could order one from a dealer in another state bordering the NE and then have it shipped to your dealer?
