I hear the 2012 SRX will have .............

* the 3.6L eng (optional?) replacing the Turbo. Rated about 300HP /265 ft lbs. Better than current 3.0L but not as good as 300/295 Turbo. (they say torque comes on sooner however!)

* Heated steering wheel option

* Onstar 9.0 Capable of Remote Start/lites & Horn/unlock, all via cell phone! ( from anywhere)

* Slightly higher prices of course

I wish I could get OnStar 9.0 update for my 2010 Sierrra and Terrain. I missed it by a year!lol I think I would rather have the turbo V-6 myself.
New for the 2012 Cadillac SRX:
Exterior color Xenon Blue Metallic
Heated steering wheel added to Wood Trim Package
Redundant door locks located on the armrest
20" premium painted wheels with bright machined finish
3.6L SIDI DOHC V6 VVT Engine with (E85) FlexFuel (gas ethanol) capability

More information regarding the new engine option will be available at a later date. Please check back with us closer to the start of production.

Here is the information regarding OnStar:
OnStar, 1 year of Directions and Connections plan, includes Automatic Crash Response, Emergency Services, Crisis Assist, Stolen Vehicle Assistance including Remote Ignition Block, Remote Door Unlock, Turn-by-Turn Navigation with Destination Download (requires navigation radio) and OnStar eNav (where available), OnStar Vehicle Diagnostics, Roadside Assistance, Remote Horn and Lights, and Hands Free Calling.

Hope this information helps.

Thank you,
Caron, Cadillac Customer Service

THX for adding, Caron. So glad about the redundant door locks on arm rest! It's my major gripe with earlier SRX's! LOL

The Onstar application is not new for 2012; there is an app called MyLink available now for all 2011 SRX's; works on ipod and ipad as well! Remote start; lock and unlock; tire pressures; fuel economy; fuel level; even minutes of phone time left!

3.6 Is the only engine option available for the SRX....

"This powerplant will serve as the only available engine on the SRX here in the United States, replacing both the base 3.0-liter V6 and 2.8-liter turbocharged V6 that was axed earlier this year."

The 2.8V6 Turbo was a horrible engine carry over from Saab....GM should've just went w/ the 3.6 SIDI in the first place.
Yes, last decision @ GM was that the 3.0 won't be standard in the entry, Base model. But that could change again....

The Onstar 9.0 is available as a RETRO fit in 2011, standard in 2012. I have it on my 2011 Yukon Denali and love it. From my AT&T, Android Motorola Blur, I remote cool, check gas level, tire pressure, lock doors etc., from the restaurant table!

Caron...when is the start of production date? Any dealer that I have contacted in the New York/New Jersey area can't (or won't) offer any details on the 2012. Sadly, they don't even want to "deal" their rather large inventories of the 2011's.
KCorey,

I show that the 2012 Cadillac SRX goes into production on 7/18/11. To ensure optimal customer satisfaction, these vehicles will be produced at a pace which guarantees the high quality you've come to expect. While it typically takes 6-8 weeks for vehicles to arrive at dealerships after the start of production, I would suggest staying in touch with your local dealership for a better understanding of the time frame you may expect. There may be certain factors that could possibly affect the arrival date, including quality inspections, availability of certain vehicle options, transport distance and production sequencing.

Hope this information helps!

Thank you,

Thanks Caron, this helps a lot. I'm sure that by July 18 the dealers will have a better idea of the price and model structure. In my particular case, the lease on my Enclave is not due until September 21. Again, thanks so much for your help.
KCorey,

You're welcome! If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me directly!

Hi Caron...It was originally rumored (GM Authority) that the SRX might have the same engine (LFX rated at about 323 HP) as the Camaro. Now it seems that the SRX will have a slightly smaller engine, the LLT variant (rated at about 300 HP). Is this engine change to be standard, or is it being offered as an option? True, either of them are a step up from it's present 265 HP engine (whether it's necessary, or not, is another story), but I'm just curious which it might be. Also, I see that the heated steering wheel will be standard in the Luxury, Performance and Premium models.
Some good news today (June 13). I received an Email from a Cadillac dealer in Western New Jersey which stated that I will be able to order the 2012 SRX towards the end of the week> No news about prices...so far.
It is basically the same updated engine as camaro only modified for transverse front wheel drive duty. It should be rated at about 303hp and 264lb tq similar to the 2012 Buick lacrosse.
Well, here it is, July 18th, and still I can't get a price for the 2012 SRX's from any Cadillac dealer. They say they'll give me a great price on a 2011, but I don't want to lease a 2011...I want a new car, not a year-old car! Some where, some one must have a price!
Caron, where are you? I still cannot get pricing on the 2012's. All of the dealers I have spoken with (in the NYC area) tell me that they will not have pricing for at least another month, and possibly into September. What gives? I want to order a 2012 SRX Luxury. Most of the dealers will take the order, but don't know any pricing.

The current MSRP for the 2012 SRX Luxury FWD is $39,715.00 with a destination charge of $875.00. The current MSRP for the 2012 SRX Luxury AWD is $42,210.00 with a destination charge of $875.00. Keep in mind that all prices provided represent the current Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price and do not include tax, title, license, dealer fees and optional or dealer installed equipment. I hope this helps. Thank you.

Tricia, GM Customer Service.
Tricia...thanks so much!! You have just made my day, er month...maybe year!!
Tricia...just to let you know that due to your help, I ordered my 2012 Luxury FWD on Tuesday. They estimate it might take 12 weeks, or hopefully earlier. I'll keep in touch. Oh, even the dealer was surprised that I had the prices. He said (the salesman, anyway) that he did not have any knowledge of the prices but was glad to see them.
By the way, there are an awful lot of SRX's out there. Most large dealers have dozens of them, but aren't very agressive in trying to get rid of their inventories. Just an observation.
Well, if you're really interested, just key in "2012 Cadillac SRX" for a host of websites. Most of the attention is on the new "LFX" engine (306/308 hp), and the heated steering wheel, but there are some very good road tests by good magazines.
