I just got my new 2011 Terrain last week and want to pick up some touch up paint for it. Does anyone know the code for the carbon black metallic? Also, where is the best place to get just a small bottle of touch up paint? Thanks.

Your dealer should have the paint, and also know the code. I think a google search on the Web will also give you the code and some optional places to buy it.

I called two different dealerships - one told me 501Q and the other one told me WA501Q (not sure if they're the same or not). I don't see it listed on the automotivetouchup website though.

Is that the service parts identification sticker in the glove box? If so, I don't see anything that says 501Q. I see U 565Q (that's all it says - it doesn't say "Paint" or anything) which I was just told by automotivetouchup is the same thing as 501Q. Does that sound right?

My dealer gave me free touch up paint...here is what it says...I have not used it yet so cannot attest for the match

I ended up getting the 565Q from automotivetouchup since 565Q is what was written in my glovebox. I'm pretty sure 501Q and 565Q are the same anyway but I felt more comfortable going with the one that was printed in my car.

ok..the whole thing is a bit weird....inside my glove box it shows 565q as well. so i called parts dept that sold me the 501q paint. he re-looked it up by vin and assures me i have correct paint. Looking at the paint on the brush it does look like exact match. Maybe below are the same thing. i called someone that sells touch up paint and he said difference is factory that made paint. but he confirmed they are same "essentially the same" so i think we are both fine.

I am showing that the paint code for Carbon Black Metallic for the 2011 Terrain is WA-565Q. WA-501Q appears to be the code for Carbon Black Metallic on the 2010 Terrain. I would also have to agree that this is likely to be the same color with different years and perhaps different factories.

Leave it to GM to have multiple color numbers and names for the same paint. Having been a GM owner for the last 27 years, I'm not surprised. I have a 2011 Equinox, paint code is WA565Q. I found it hard to believe that I could not find either 565Q or 501Q on Dupli-Color's website. I called and they told me they do not make 565Q, at least not in the scratch & fix.
