I was reading this thread:

http://www.equinoxforum.net/index.php?topic=1086.0

And I can't get music to play via Bluetooth.

Assuming my device is compatible (Galaxy Note 3) and assuming the car has Vehicle Interface Package, it should work, correct?

How do I know if my vehicle has the Vehicle Interface Package?

Yes, I can plug it into the center console.

Is there anything I can buy or an upgrade to get bluetooth audio?

Thank you,
Dan

I don't think they added bluetooth audio until 2013. Mine does not have it.

You could get a bluetooth transmitter to add this feature. For example:

I think this is a better match, the other is for, like an iPod, not a bluetooth enable phone:

If you want factory style bluetooth music streaming with a 2011, you need to replace the PDIM. I don't know if it will work if you have nav, but if you have the standard radio it will probably work. The model I put in is ACDelco 22797218 Multi Media Player Interface Module Assembly. I looks like there is one for sale on eBay. With this module replaced, the directions in the thread you mentioned should work. It's been a while since I did this, so I think there was a condition that the software version of the radio be at a specific version and mine was at that, so I don't know if it will work with other versions.

This thread has the directions I followed. They are for the cruze, but it worked for my equinox. DB/DD is the radio version I have.

Here is my original thread about this: http://www.equinoxforum.net/index.php?topic=4522.0

And here is another one. http://www.equinoxforum.net/index.php?topic=6750.0

Everything else I have read indicates that this only works on the LS. Vehicles with the color touch screen do not use the same modular piece.

That's probably true for 2012, in 2011 I don't think they had the color touch screen unless you got navigation. I have a 2011 2LT and it works great.

By 2012, the use of the MPIM was gone. I had the dealer do a SCAN for the MPIM module
of my '12 Full Feature Navi and it returned the model number of the radio. Also, there was
no fuse for the MPIM.
