Can someone tell me why this 2009 equinox sport is badged as "SS"? I've seen this vehicle in person and it is badged as SS on the side and back. I used to work at GM and never heard of an equinox sport SS. Any help would be much appreciated. Please follow the link and select the photo detailing the back of the vehicle and you'll see the SS below the Sport logo. This is driving me crazy and I'm wondering if someone just decided to badge it themselves. I googled for an answer and came up with nothing. This forum is my last hope for an newer.

I've never heard of the "Equinox SS" so I'm also guessing that someone added the badges themselves. From what I understand, a few years back Chevy decided to no longer indescriminately use the "SS" designation after the controversy of labeling a 4cyl Cobalt as such..

he's right. The SPORT was the last year offering w the Traverse 3.6L eng AWD, 6 speed auto only, and it flew, but not out of the showroom....... NOT an SS. Someone got clever.
