Ok...well with your other posts (concerning transmission shifts and tires)...
I guess I am curious if the SRX is "new to you" or if you bought it new
What (if you recall) was the temperature when you tried the sunroof? You said it was

so it begs the question of sluggish operation related to temperature...and/or...are the "tracks"
free of debris? How was the speed when it was opening?
If you bought it used...did you "check it out" before you bought?
Could the "tracks" need lubrication? Cold weather increases the "viscosity" of lubricants so if it was really cold...could this have made the operation sluggish?
Also possibly related...is this the original battery? It is conceivable after 4 years that a new battery may be called for.
How long had the engine been off when you tried it...and what other things were you checking out at the time...
Marginal batteries exhibit their weakness more prominately when temperatures are cold.
Could the sluggish operation be related to the SRX being in RAP mode for several minutes while you were looking at other "features" and then tried the sunroof?
I can envision a weak battery...discharging while under RAP...not supplying the "juice" needed to close the roof immediately after starting the engine...
