2007 Pontiac Torrent - error message

I have an 07 Torrent which is essentially the same as the equinox. Today, I got a message on the cluster, ENGINE HOT AC OFF. Its 15 degrees F here, the AC was off, the engine was not hot, the temp gauge reads zerp (full cold).

I read on another site its an indication of a weak temp. sensor. Anyone else have this issue?
