The tube for the EGR valve broke off near the valve. Valve seems to still be working, didn't trigger a code warning, so I thought I'd just be able to replace the tube. Got the new one, went to put it on, and it is not the right size, guess I should have done some reading first. Apparently there was a service bulletin sent out early on, and the valve was to be replaced with a different one, from a Delphi to a Siemens valve. So it looks like I need to replace the valve as well, all of the parts stores near me only have the tube that fits the updated valve. I read the bulletin, seems pretty straight forward to me, until it talks about needing to update the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to ensure that it will not trigger an service code. Does anyone here have experience doing this, is it something I can do without any specialty tools? Or am I better off taking it in to a shop for this work? Thanks!
