alldatadiy.com has the full shop manual online. Only $20 for a one-month subscription with all the needed information.
Well i thought this was a forum to help people with problems on their vehicle, But if i have to pay for help i would just go to a auto parts store and buy a service manual...........

I have a GMC terrain that has started getting you out and stranding you. It will run great for a week or two, then the engine power reduced lights come on, sometimes it will get you home but most the time I have to leave it setting for three or four hours then it will start like a new one. I am bumfuzled on this terrain, if someone could help me I would greatly appreciate it..I’ve already changed the computer didn’t help it at all……
The repair manual that you may possibly find at an auto parts store will be severely lacking in the info that you need. $20 is a small sum to pay to get you job done correctly.

We are not standing behind you watching what you are doing. And as a very experienced technician I would have a manual to verify the procedure replacing a chain just like any technician doing a repair for the first time would.
You have already gotten your $0 worth, free advice on the internet.
Only thing in life that is free is BS and aggravation. The cost of a manual is nothing compared to paying a tech for their labor and experience.

It is, but this Forum mostly "helps people" at a higher level ... (i.e. there's not a lot of talk about lower-level stuff ... like doing invasive surgery on Engines ... although if you do a SEARCH you will find some discussions on that).

Just pay AllDatadiy the $20 (or whatever it is). You're doing a major repair. You need accurate information every step of the way. I have the Helm Shop Manual for my 2011 (with the 3.0L Engine), but I wouldn't trust the information in there would directly (and exactly) apply to your 2016. Make one mistake with some Torque number, and you'll be re-doing the whole repair again!

You're lucky there's even a reasonably-priced option like AllDatadiy. Helm sold me my Manual set for $200 back in 2013 or 2014. Then they subsequently went "paperless" and starting selling the Manuals on USB sticks for $200, jacking the price of the paper Manual up to something like $350! Now ... for your 2016, at least ... the USB stick is $350 and the paper Manual is an unbelievable $475!

====
BTW, 2018 and 2019 Equinox owners will now have to pay Helm $595 for the paper version of the Shop Manual Set!

If I only had a couple of posts on a forum, I certainly would not trust the members to be providing me with detailed repair instructions before I had built up a good rapport with the members.

Well i spent the $20.00 for the aldata information it was not any
help my engine code is LDT alldata does not show this engine...
That doesn't sound like a 2.4L engine code. I think this info below may help.
There is more if you search your model year 2.4L. For 2016 I think yours is an LEA.
The 2.4L codes depending on model year are:
LE5, LE9, LAF, LEA, LAT, and LUK.
GM 2.4L Ecotec Engine (Specs, Reliability & Issues)

can someone tell me on timing a 2.4 ecotec engine number cylinder top dead center on compresson stroke or exhaust stroke.
can someone tell me on timing a 2.4 ecotec engine number cylinder top dead center on compresson stroke or exhaust stroke.
Timing is always done on compression at TDC on #1 on any gas engine that I know of.
That's what i always thought but this engine seems different one says it top TDC on compresson stroke another gut told me it was TDC exhaust stroke i have it tore down for the fifth time
i don't want to put it back together until i know for sure how to time it properly. Thank's for all your help..
$20 at alldatadiy will get you a one month shop manual subscription for everything you will need to know.
