My last two Gmc terrains had the 2.0 engine. Now my 2021 Terrain slt has the little 1.5 engine as the only choice. I hate this engine. I has low power, is more noise, and has less gas mileage as the larger engine. I wouln't but this car again.

I was totally disappointed by the demise of the 2.0 option for the Equinox/Terrain too.

First the gen3 refresh was delayed for one model year, but was still to have a 2.0 option. Then later the news was that there was to be no 2.0 available in the refreshed 2022 model.

I now have a 2019, 2.0, Redline, which I'm quite pleased with; the issue is I cannot replace this vehicle with something equivalent from Chevy or GMC.

I was anticipating getting a 2022 RS model with the 2.0; That would be a great package of looks and performance!

The anemic 1.5 is marginal at best in terms of performance, especially when loaded, in hilly terrain and against a stiff wind.

Without a 2.0 option: I'm not interested!!!

Yes, the Blazer can be had with a 2.0, but it's bigger, heavier, costlier and only made in Mexico and its best option is the 3.6 engine.

Chevrolet needs to focus a little more on their core sales leaders; Equinox and Silverado and not tamper with success by removing/restricting available options and packages.

GM is so enthralled by the conversion to Battery Electric vehicles, they're losing sight of what made them successful.

Rumor is GM is working on a different engine but was not ready for 2022. I am holding out to see what is available for 2023. I hated the 2.4 in my 2014 because of low power on rolling hills in our area let alone the fuel in the oil, etc. Darn if I will buy a 1.5T with a six speed transmission in an Equinox unless I move somewhere flatter like Nebraska or central Illinois. The Terrain has a 9 speed in which I am curious if that is better or worse for the 6 speed attached to the 1.5T in the Equinox. Saw a Youtube segment on the 2022 Terrain and kind of liked the revises styling.

I can only hope that a higher output engine will be available in future models of the Equinox/Terrain.

I have read a few posts regarding the 9 speed/1.5 combination. Apparently the 1.5 seldom sees 9th gear in most situations. On the other hand; the 2.0 loves to be in 9th gear.
