Do it. New fresh fluid will not hurt a normally functioning trans. It may help one acting up but no guarantees on that.Trans fluid change. Thoughts?
It was only the final model year (2017) where the Equinox with the 3.6L Engine was only available with AWD. In 2016 you could still get it.That 3.6 FWD title threw me there for awhile as I was thinking that he must have AWD. Chevrolet only allowed the 2016 and 2017 with a 3.6 to be ordered with AWD. We did not have the option of just FWD. By George the Terrain could be ordered with a 3.6 and just FWD.
Did you have the filter changed too?We changed the trans fluid in our 2015 3.6L last year at 97k. It for the most part cured one of the odd flares we had that had existed for several years. I would highly recommend changing the fluid if you have not done it yet. We did the transmission, transfer case, and rear-end at the same time. It wasn't exactly the first trans fluid change, it had the valve body replaced twice, but it was the first "purposeful" fluid change in what we assume was the majority of the fluid was changed instead of what just dripped out.
Can't be done ... without removing the entire Transmission and cracking it open ("clamshell" case). Really bad design, IMO, but I'm sure GM Engineers would have their own argument in favor of it.Did you have the filter changed too?
