2018 Terrain Denali, 16K miles both, OnStar and DIC are showing it at 45psi but actual psi is 35/36psi. Bad TPMS? Covered under warranty? Had right rear tire repaired for a slow leak about 2 weeks ago, but that shouldn't cause this, should it.
Could be the TPMS need to be reset/relearned. Unfortunately it requires a special tool to do so, but it should be covered under warranty I would think. The relearn procedure takes less than 5 minutes, and a dealer wouldn't even need to pull it in to the garage to do it. They could bring the tool out to the vehicle and do it very quickly. If that resolves the issue you will know right away because the pressures in the display will update as the relearn is done.
Thanks, the odd thing is that tire hasn't been touched since December of last year when the dealer did a tire rotation, and the Feb & March 2020 OnStar diag reports showed it at 36 psi. With all this stuff going I'll just have to keep an eye on it until everything gets back to 'normal'
Try letting all of the air out and it should read close to if not 0psi. Fill it back up and see if it correlates with your tire pressure gage. If it does line up, it's bad.
I have found that when one goes out its best to replace all four with new. TPMS is a love/hate relationship for me. I love it when it works, but hate it when it doesn't.
Probably a faulty TPMS. Try above suggestion first.
