Just about ready to Re-Up into a 2013 Terrain Denali

Been a long winter of deciding what i want to do with my 2 vehicles now that the Monte Carlo is free and clear.
Been back and forth between a couple new SUV's and i think im ready to trade em in for a 2013 Terrain SLT2 AWD with the V6 (cant argue with 301hp >:D )

Looking at a Summit White SLT2 with Brownstone Leather. 18's, Cargo Pack, Nav upgrade, AWD and the 3.6

Talked with a couple dealers in the process and i am pretty much guaranteed to break even on Trade in value on my 2010 SLE2 FWD I4 vs what i owe after 36mo.
One shop told me they could do $17,000 sight unseen. Which i like.
They also told me they would easily pay me $7500-8000 for my '04 Dale Jr. Monte Carlo. Again i like.
End of the day if those #'s hold true im going to drive away with my SLT2 for cheaper than i bought my original 2010 :D

This is what i wanted immediately after i got my 2010 Cyber Grey/Light Titanium Cloth.

The original white (arctic white i think it was) that was available when i factory ordered mine was not a white i was looking for, but the Summit White is AMAZING. And the brownstone is so darn nice.

Question time...
What sort of "real" MPG - L/100km are you guys seeing with the 3.6L and AWD?

Over 33,000km on the 2010 4cyl im normally averaging 9.9-10.2 l/100k with a highway drive to work and a city drive home.

I've got a 2013 Nox with the V6 and AWD. Only got about 1000 miles so far and I'm averaging 20 mpg.

Might be a slight change of plans. I have fallin in serious Like with a certain NEW 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland on the lot a few blocks from work...
V6 Loaded, White, Black Leather, Pano-roof, very VERY nice looking ride.

Just doing some homework and working out pricing details with them.

Good luck, I like they way they look, think its the 2014 that looks cool,

but think its the 2015 model year that looks hideous , like what was Chrysler thinking lol.

Both very nice Cameron,, :thumb: of course I'm cheering for the Terrain with brownstone,, in either Summit or Olympic white - that's the two whites GM utilizes for this platform.

Either way best of luck shopping, I'm sure you'll be pleased with whichever purchase you decide.

I'm very pleased with my Denali V6, I made the trip to Edm today and return and I was cruzin at 129km/hr netting 30.4 to 31.7mpg as best score.

I love my Denali!!

Re: Just about ready to Re-Up into a 2013 SLT2 AWD

no kidding, the '14 Cherokee and the '15 Grand Cherokee look turrible. Rear end looks fine but the front end is just... just... uh... wow.

This is the unit I'm looking at. Sitting on the lot with 76km on the clock :)

I think this one will come down to a really good test drive between the 2. Plus looking at the GC it opens me up (if im gonna spend the money on a lease anyways) to the Denali...

Re: Just about ready to Re-Up into a 2013 SLT2 AWD

yeah i saw it and was completely in love with it. Wasn't even the one i went to look at initially.
Went to look at a 2011 Overland with 46,000km White/Tan nav/roof

Would be fair to say the Terrain will keep me happy with better mileage than the GC for sure. Its almost 1000lbs lighter curb wt and 10 more hp.

Gonna be a fun weekend of test drives between the 2 i think lol.

2013 Denali - $45,890 loaded
301hp - Summit White, Black interior, Cargo, protection pack, Navigation.
2013 Cherokee Overland - $49,707 as is (this one is freakishly priced in comparison to others, not sure why)
290hp - White, Black interior, Panoroof, Navigation

Gonna be a fun weekend. >:D >:D >:D

What did you average for the whole trip ?

Sounds like you have a great running vehicle. GM should get out the word on these high performance AND high gas mileage vehicles. Seems like they are missing an opportunity.

Sorry but I do not believe for one minute that your 4,200 lb+ SUV was getting over 30 mpg for any sustained period of time at 130 kph, unless you're going downhill of course. I don't believe it to be possible with the aerodynamics of the Terrain.

Regarding that ugly Jeep, that is the new Cherokee, not a new Grand Cherokee. The '14 MCE'd Grand Cherokee is a heck of a nice ride, especially with the new UConnect system. Best of all, they are giving the V6s the dual exhaust. I looked at an '11 GC before I bought my Edge. Very solid vehicle but in order that it didn't look like it was missing a tailpipe, you had to go with the V8. Way too much vehicle for me!

It's hard to compare the GC with the Terrain. Aside from the fact they are both 5-passenger vehicles, they are completely different vehicles. The GC is extremely capable off-highway and has the appropriate running gear... longitudinal engine, real transfer case, Mercedes platform - and the Terrain is a FWD based AWD crossover.

In any case, a good comparative test drive should make your mind up.... Good luck!

Re: Just about ready to Re-Up into a 2013 SLT2 AWD

^ the '15 Grande Cherokee gets the stupid look too.
The '14 Cherokee gets it first.
IMO they both look Terrible.

Todays news. Had seat time in both the Denali and the Overland today.

Overland is a real nice machine. BUT the Terrain Denali will be my next vehicle hands down. (unless i change my mind AGAIN and keep looking)

The single shred of common sense i have left when it comes to buying vehicles tells me i will NEVER use the GC to its full off road potential, the Terrain will get better mileage, will handle better, is quicker.
Plus i can save just about $8000 right off the top, before i start haggling.

Sorry, it is what it is, there are 3.6L's running around LA that are getting better mpg's than I am.

The Denali has a pretty nice ride doesn't it. The suspension adjustment makes a difference and the Denali leather is so supple.
HP to weight ratio can't be argued either between the two...

All the best in choosing one!! :thumb:

I was talking with the guys out in Camrose today. If the weather doesn't turn to complete trash overnight i am gonna take a blast out there tomorrow and take a look at it.

Also talking with the guys at Ron Hodgson's in St Albert about one. (They have a Quicksilver unit)

I'm sure Cam can manage... as I have forwarded him a great Salesman there.. and he has contacted Wheaton previously already.

Was really hoping that Tricia's replacement wouldn't follow in her footsteps... apparently I was wrong :p

whats an outlook? :p
and correct me if im wrong, but isn't the GM Customer Service rep limited to helping USA customers anyways?

Anyways,
Went to look at the Quicksilver Denali today at Ron Hodgson's in St. Albert. Turns out that listing is so new it hasn't even made it to the lot yet.
So they are gonna call me when they get it in :)

Quicksilver is really nice too, that would be my second color choice personally,, it will hide the dust nicely though :thumb:[/color]

My first choice is Summit White, always has been. Quicksilver is my 2nd choice.
Im just really wanting to see both in person to see if the impression i get from the internet is true, that being the silver kinda tones down the chrome a tough in comparison to the white.
Especially the front grille.

Summit White it will be. The quicksilver is nice, but i love the Summit White.

Problem is a optioned White Denali in the Edmonton area is scarce.
The dealer locator shows 1 within like 300km of Edmonton.
And it has a name attached to it apparently.

So i say well lets factory order one... Told i can not factory order a 2013 anymore.

Anyone know when the 2014 will be available for a factory order? Is there much of a gap?
The salesman tonight didn't know.

Hmmm that seems odd, 2014's don't come out till fall. I'd say that particular dealer can't order a Denali because they have reached their allotment.
Have you inquired with other dealerships? The bigger ones normally have bigger allotment numbers to play with.
