Hate to ask the obvious question(s), but...Do you have power to the switch? Do you have power to the motor? Does the motor operate when not connected to the transmission? When connected to the transmission, but not connected to the linkage arms--does everything run? Is there binding in the linkage arms?
So I've seen alot of complaints online regarding the issue with the Windshield wiper transmission. Now there's a recall in Canada but not the US because people are complaining online instead of contacting GMC. If you want a recall you have to contact GMC . I just paid $318 to fix the problem because no one is contacting GMC.
I had the same issue with the Windshield wiper transmission the motor just stopped when it was raining. It cost me roughly $300 I had no choice I had to take it to the dealer as we were having strong storms in our area and I had to go to work. I complained to GM and that got no where, I also complained to the NTSB. Trust me it still ticks me off.
Wow! The rain comes down here in the Carolinas so violently at times that if you lose your wipers at the wrong time (on the Interstate) you’d be hard-pressed to get to the shoulder without getting into an accident! Very dangerous predicament, for sure!
