Re: General Comments

After just a couple days in the new Terrain, I have no doubt I made the right decision in waiting for this vehicle. My alternatives were the Acura RDX (quick, but gulps gas) and the Infiniti EX35 which is really plush, but has no back seat or rear storage. This car is incredible. 50 miles back and forth to work today and playing with everything. I was pulling into the office garage before I even knew it. Total MPG on first 100 miles is 26.2 on the DIC and I suppose that gets better with age....interstate about 90% by the way. Seats are WAY more comfortable than the Vue I traded and the ride simply doesn't compare. My other car is a 5 Series BMW and I know how a car should ride and handle....this just blows me away. The 18" wheels provide a smooth, yet very in touch, feeling on the road. Ramps can be taken quickly with no roll and I suppose I'll continue to up the speed ante to see just how far I can take this car. Finally, the I-4 is an unbelievable powerplant. Other than the noise under acceleration, it's hard to associate this mid size CUV with a 4 banger. DI has arrived!! I am a believer in the Terrain/Nox!!!

Re: General Comments

Snow--You have no idea how I have agonized over my decision to get this car. In early November, I was about a day away from laying down some serious $ for the EX35. Drove it 2-3 times and was in love with the comfort, power, technology, and yes, even the style. I had read a bit about the Nox/Terrain and decided to stop on the way home at the Chevy dealer just to take a look. Fortunately, I got to see and drive a loaded Nox and I knew that I needed to seriously consider these vehicles. My 09 BMW is the 2nd I've had in 3 years. Before that a Caddy CTS 3.6, before that 2 SLK's, one 4 and then the new V-6. I've had Porsches, Mercedes, Jags, and some very serious muscle cars in the 60's & 70's. My dad owned 4 NAPA stores and I grew up loving cars. I've driven 'em, raced 'em, pampered 'em, and even rebuilt a few in my 60 years. I probably never keep any car more than a couple years. This Terrain will be my daily driver and the wife has a very short hop to work so she normally drives the Bimmer. I am fortunate as life has been good to me. I could afford any of those cars I was looking at. I think time will tell me I made the right choice. In any event, I've got a great big back seat and cargo area I wouldn't get with the Infinity.

Great Input Islander...I think you have convinced me for a 4 cylinder...Probably be down here longer than expected and where I live outside Orlando its like all highway driving on the roads in and out of my residence..Not I-4 or anything just long stretches at 55..no lights hardly..plus the fuel economy will probably be better than my Rav4..mabe this week it will come in so I can swap it out somewhere in the state,hehe..Thanks again for all your information and for that matter thanks Everyone with a Terrain also..Snowitch too..

Re: General Comments

Nitti--You just can't go wrong in FLA with this I-4. At speed on the highway, it's so quiet that you can't even tell the engine is running. I've not horsed it around at all, it is brand new he he, but it passed others with ease and had enough spunk getting on I-275 for me this morning. I was truly worried I'd regret the 4...wrong. Now, if it had the 3.6L DI I had in the caddy available, I probably would have opted for the 6. The CTS engine was truly a great powerplant and I could get 25-28 hwy mpg if I was taking a nice leisurely trip. Loved that engine! Truth is, I couldn't distinguish any great difference between the 4 and the 3.0L 6. Opted for 32MPG.

Mine will be the family hauler and vacation vehicle. I needed the extra oomph. With my wifes Altima,we went with a 4cyland she gets crazy mileage.

I had all intentions of getting a 6 with some option but tested drove both and couldn't tell a major differnce. Go a fully loadd 4 instead.

nittle48, we know the vette experience is something special, having always owned one or two at a time in the past 20 years ourselves until a year or so ago.
You love them or you don't.
Most bang for the buck and all round handling and power specs to compete with many supercars.
Most who don't like them haven't truly driven one the way it's made to be driven (top end, slalom, 1/4 mile, skidpad, etc.) but that's another discussion.

We loved them and still do but $$ is tight right now, so maybe when the teens grow up we'll get them one (for the weekends...haha, guess who'll be driving it on weekdays if we get another one some day? ).

We're absolutely in love with the quality ride, handling and interior of our Terrain and wish we could see the big grin on your face when you take yours on it's maiden cruise!
It truly is a driving experience!

Re: General Comments

OK still waiting for my car so the salesman can trade it out and he is looking everyday for the Terrain I now want..He got a few I-4's in so I took a drive and he was busy so he gave me the keys and I went out alone..I must have drove 45 miles cause I got lost and had to call him for directions back..I am sold on the I-4..I stopped along the way got out tried the back doors for closing..now problem..no sun shing off the stick handle,hehe..and you guys must have ultra sonic hearing cause the engine seemed to purrr not tapp-tapp-tapping..I will just have to wait patiently for what I want..no problem..

I am glad you guys have given me alot of reason to be here..but sometimes I wish maybe I was not and just have to keep in mind all the things ppl say are wrong with the Terrain and keep an open mind thou but see for myself..Thanks again for all your input and enjoy all your new cars as I am sure I will when i get it..Thanks

Re: General Comments

Glad to see you test drove the I4 Nitti. Especially here in FLA, unless you're towing, not much need for the power (or expense) of the V6. This I4 (and I've got a whole WEEK of driving experience now) seems more than adequate on the powerband. Only thing I would say is that it is a bit loud under acceleration, but that's pretty typical for a 4 banger! I've got 261 miles on it already and have just under half a tank...I am VERY pleased so far.

Also got the Bluetooth hooked up and a few directory entries that I use most of the time. Very clear on my end and I'm told it's the same way on the other end. I am still learning all the things this car can do and am delighted with performance of NAV and Pioneer stereo.

By the way, saw a Black SLT-2 on the road today. We got side by side and gave each other the thumbs up. Very few of these on Fla West Coast so far.

Re: General Comments

Thanks for the info Islander..I noticed when backing up yesterday(rainy and very damp cold) the rear camera was all fogged up..Typical it seems..I loved the red ambient red on the information screen..Found it handles just fine for me..even when ya accelerate..I am not that much of a leadfoot ..The Terrain did all i wanted it to do..Now If they can find what I want..Thanks again
