Christmas Tree @&$#%

Hauling freshly cut Christmas tree. My wife is a bit of a Christmas freak and insists on getting the most humongous tree we can find at the farm. Im used to this as we've been married going on 20yrs. However this is the first year we didn't have a van or a car with a roof rack so my Terrain became the de facto christmas three hauler.

The vehicle made it home in one piece but i'm not so sure about my back.

They had a black one and this one on the lot. I don't think I'll ever own another back car. So I went with this one. Now that Ive owned it for 5yrs I think I would be happy if all of my future cars were this color. It really looks great even after a few weeks (or occasional months) between car washes.

Re: Christmas Tree @&$#%

As a kid I always remember artificial trees. Now we live about 20min from a huge tree farm. So it's sort of a big family event my wife selects the tree and my son and I cut it down, carry it back to the car and lug the beast into house. We bitch and complain the entire time and joke about getting a charlie brown tree next year.

But for us this is the best part. We don't go crazy with gifts and usually have a $25 limit per person. Really makes the season about family.

Re: Christmas Tree @&$#%

Back in my day we used to cut our own tree and stick it in the back of a Chevelle. Keep in mind no folding back seats and no outer wrap to get it home. Dads Chevelles were the SUV/Truck as they used to haul plywood on the roof etc. Do that now and the roof is dented.

Then you would have to cut off about a foot as it did not look over 7 foot tall when you cut it LOL!

Hmmm By the looks of the room I should tell your wife you have room for a larger one next year. LOL!

Thanks for the pic. Merry Christmas!

I found an old Aluminum tree in the attic. I thought about taking the pole to work and putting a Festivis tree up at work for a joke. We all were just laughing the other day over the old Seinfeld episode they did on Festivis and the Human Fund. The pole would fit very nice in my cubical. My co workers can come and express their disappointments in each other and exhibit their feats of strength.

If you have not seen this episode you have to watch it. I just saw it Friday and laughed my self silly.

Re: Christmas Tree @&$#%

Thanks for the pics . My dad used to drive an Oldsmobile 98 4-door and we would goto the farm down the road evey year and cut our own tree . I had to laugh at the posts on how tall you thought it was when you cut it down , in my case it was always " will it fit in the tree stand "? . So for the next 5 miles that was the big question . And it seems to me that once we got home the trunk was always a bit to big around and the " I told you " would echo through the house ! LOL - Memories - . Nothing like the smell of a real tree though . Although we own a REALISTIC looking fake one , and then end up burning a pine scented candle . LMAO
