What happens if no TPMS installed

I was looking at getting some winter tire/rims for my '12 Equinox, but really don't care to spend the $ on a new set of sensors. Will I just get a warning at first or will there be some annoying buzzer, warning, or light continually while I drive? If so, I guess I might get some, otherwise I won't. Any experience?

Re: What happens if no TPMS installed

There will be a TPMS light on the dash and there will also be a Service Tire Monitor Message too. Get the sensors so you won't have to deal with any of that.

Just the light on the dash and a warning on the screen that can be dismissed. Tire shops might also balk at installing the tires without tpms, I believe there is a law against tire shops installing wheels without tpms installed.

Re: What happens if no TPMS installed

I would also add that the tpms sensors can be purchased on ebay for 1/4 of the price. For example:

Re: What happens if no TPMS installed

I have seen genuine AC Delco sensors on Amazon for $17 and change each.
Crazy to go without them at that price.

Re: What happens if no TPMS installed

I believe it is illegal for a shop to install tires without the sensors in place since it is a federally mandated feature on cars. Gotta save the environment yea know.....
