You might have to turn up the sound a bit, it's much more noticeable in person and has been getting worse.
Anyone experienced this before?
My best guess is that it's the exhaust pipe wobbling around as is seems too loose, especially around the flexible pipe in front of the catalytic converter. All 5 exhaust hangers are intact and look ok but I'm wondering if they have become too flexible with age. The whole exhaust pipe from the flex pipe to the rear muffle sways easily when pushing on it by hand. The sound of wobbling the exhaust by hand doesn't match the sound in the video however.
I can't find anything else that's loose or rattly. Exhaust heat shields are fine.
In the second picture the front bushing is bulging to the lower right but is still tight when I put a screw driver in and push on the sides. The rear busing has a big tear on one side and moves fairly easily with a screw driver. I think these are the originals with around 105k miles on them.
Can I press those out or should I get a new arm?
Does anyone know the torque specs for the front control arm? I've only been able to find that the rear bushing is 110 ft lb and the ball joint bolt that connect to the arm are 50.
I just replaced the ball joints in July too, should have done both whole arms then....
I had bad ball joints and replaced the entire control arm, 135k. Seemed logical even though the bushings were pretty good. New bushings and it was probably easier than having to cut the ball joints from the control arm.
