Driver Side Mirror Replacement How Too

This morning I found that my driver side (heated) mirror was shattered during the night. Only the glass part is broken. The power adjust still works fine and the housing isn't damaged. I found plenty of replacement parts on line but not "how to" replace it. I did find a video on how to replace the entire housing by pulling off the interior door panel but looking at GMs parts breakdown I don't believe I need to pull the entire housing out. I THINK the glass could be or should just pop out some how. Anyone done this or seen any videos how to do this?

you do not have to take the housing off.

if you get the mirror glass from gm it will have a bracket on it that will snap in after you remove the broken one.

there are like 8 FRAGILE TABS that can be moved a little bit and the bracket will come off

just move them a little carefull they break off easily

in picture they are circled.......if you look at your current mirror you will see them.
