Re: Installed New PDIM, enabled Bluetooth Streaming

This just adds audio streaming, correct? It does not enable bluetooth calling?

Will this work on a radio that is connected to On Star? How about if I don't have a USB port?

Re: Installed New PDIM, enabled Bluetooth Streaming

I can get the center console panels off fine and can see the PDIM box from the drivers side, but how did you get the box out? Seems like it should just pop out, i don't see any screws but it won't budge. any help would be much appreciated!

Re: Installed New PDIM, enabled Bluetooth Streaming

thanks for the PM help! Got it installed and working great. only thing i don't like is that no song, album, playlist info or control on screen. however, the convenience of just keeping one device updated with itunes (my android phone) is worth the trade off. thanks again!

Since our radio appears to not have the bluetooth function (the bluetooth function for phone calls is apparently in the OnStar module) we can't just install an updated PDIM. Dumb, I agree. Vehicles 4-5 years ago had Bluetooth Streaming, not sure why GM decided to completely screw this up...but they did.
Ugh..That sucks. I was all excited, for a moment. I kick myself in the arse for not having my wife get the '13 instead of the '12. We went with price instead of the heart.

Re: Installed New PDIM, enabled Bluetooth Streaming

So I'm confused now. I have a 2011 Terrain with the Touchscreen and Nav and would love to have bluetooth streaming (had it in a loaner car I got last week and it was great). Is it possible to easily add this and, if so, what part do I need and how would I do it?

The loaner car allowed me to control the music either from my iphone itself or by the steering wheel controls. It also showed the album artwork on the display, although I do not expect that to work with my vehicle.

Look at a post that is a few ahead of this one. It has the criteria needed to see if you can use it and a part number.
Then you can go to places like tonkinonline.com to see about ordering the part and the price.

Are you referring to Craiuar's post above where he mentions plugging in a USB stick in order to get a version #?

If so, I just tried that procedure and it didn't work for me. When I press Menu (it's actually Menu/Sel on my radio) it just brings up the USB Storage Menu. Does that mean my radio isn't compatible?

Re: Installed New PDIM, enabled Bluetooth Streaming

With the new PDIM do audio controls work for controlling the streaming audio like skip back/forward/pause?

Also can anyone provide any pictures of what I need to remove to get at the PDIM or advice for how to do it without breaking anything? I've got a 2010 Equinox LT.

Many thanks!

Just Plug and Play! Better quality, Bluetooth support, and no Dealership programming required, and my vehicle is over 3 years old with original software! (Had to remove center console panels, but those come off and om with a literal tug or shove)

this should work guaranteed on any terrain or equinox with the BASE radio from 2010-2013

Re: Installed New PDIM, enabled Bluetooth Streaming

tfors, I've got your back. I just got the module yesterday for about $100 with shipping from Amazon. (I chose overnight to make sure I could do it this weekend) I found a manual online which showed how to do the whole thing, usb ports, aux port new wiring harness and PDIM. Well, luckily I just need to do the PDIM.

I have a 2010 Chevy Equinox 2LT so it's got USB/Aux and NO nav, I looked for this years ago and found nothing so I was happy to see this post. Also, this is probably only for those that already have the USB/aux setup. Ok, now for what you want. You have to take ONLY the two drivers side panels off. The one right below the console in the shape of a triangle and the center console side panel. Again, left side ONLY. The don't unclip, so you just need to use a little force. It's more of a "plug" type clip so only force will remove it. The triangle piece is pretty tough to get off, now that I'm thinking about it maybe you don't even have to take that piece off. You'd only need to take it off if you couldn't get the left side center console piece off. The PDIM comes off when you undo the clips on the right side, you'll have to pull on it a little tough. The two cables will come off when you pull the smaller metal clip up a little and for the larger one the clip has to be pushed down and then pulled out. Look at the new PDIM and you'll see how the cables latch on.

My bad, I didn't get a picture of the left center console with the drivers side panel off.

Please see the pictures and it'll all make sense. Now, my phones connects to the car for phone and also a second time to gm music connect for streaming.
