2013 Equinox Phone Contacts..AAAAARRRGH!!!

Long story short..My phone book/contacts need to be totally cleared out and resynched from my Smartphone. Chevy Dealers and GM Infotainment are totally of no help. Seem like GM is content to fill the positions of their first line technical people with individuals who are polite, chipper and earnest but know less that an informed owner. Clearing out, deleting, modifying, resynching contacts should be really easy to do!!!!

No matter how many times I remove Bluetooth devices and repair, Mylink never asks anymore (used to) if I would like to share contacts.

Although I can connect android phone via Bluetooth and use Pandora, play books on tape, etc..If I go to Android Contacts 1.4.2 and try to share contacts via BT, it does not find any BT devices.

This is really aggravating.

In frustration I've actually registered with QNX and gotten the 7.0 IDE software in the vain hope of connecting my win 7 laptop via host/target USB A/USB A cable modifying my contacts. This has an ever steeper learning curve. I'm not interested in developing apps...I just want to see the file system on Mylink and maybe modify contacts list since no one at GM seems to know how.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. This was one of the first things I did. It was futile...they all just repeat the same things that do not work...voice commands to delete contacts..removing all devices and repairing...etc. EXACTLY like GM Support.

As a matter of fact I got a happy little email from GM Infotainment Support this AM about how they enjoyed helping me (which they were unable to).

There are some sketchy Russian hacking sites on the web for updating Mylink to be able and play videos but it all deals with Russian Sonic Models which use Windows CE and are not at all the same.

I had problems synching contacts in my 2018 Equinox from my wife's Android Moto X. But my Moto X (exact same phone) synched the contacts without any trouble at all - go figure! I compared the settings on these phones but could not find any difference in the setup since they are both used exactly the same.

At first i tried removing the bluetooth pairings from both the phone and car and re-pairing but that did not work. After many tries, I finally found a recipe that worked:

1. On phone - contacts - "Contacts to display" - select "Customize" - select your account - check box for "All other contacts".
2. Remove bluetooth pairings from phone and car (MyLink).
3. On phone and MyLink, shut off Wi-Fi.
4. On phone shut off cellular data.
5. Go to MyLink and initiate bluetooth pairing with phone.
6. After hitting OK on MyLink and "Pair" on phone, wait for screen on phone to ask if OK to share data - and hit "YES".
7. On MyLink go to phone icon and all the contacts should be there now.
8. Turn on Wi-Fi and cellular data in steps 2 & 3.

I suppose only one or two of these steps might be the key, and perhaps it is step 1, but I did them all and it worked.
