Since it appears I may be in the market for a new radio - Original thread here:
I had some questions regarding the radio part numbers if anyone knows? The reason I ask is I know I'll need to get it re-programmed either through a dealer or a third party send away service, some threads I have read indicate people having issues with the dealer reprogramming if it isn't the exact correct part number or vehicle model (say a Chevy Cruze radio in a Terrain) now I'm not sure if this is a dealer to dealer in-ability or there is legit reason to get a Terrain radio to replace a Terrain radio (part of the reason why I am leaning toward sending it out to be re-programmed).
So I need to obtain a radio with RPO codes "UFU" which apparently everyone got and code "UP9" which is the Intellink option.
Checking the Ebay radios there are some with that option (UP9) but the actual part numbers are all over the place.
So does anyone know if it is ok to put the Buick radio in a Terrain? I assume if it's out of a Chevy Equinox is ok?
And what about the years? Are all Terrain years ok? I see on the label they have "software" and "hardware" dates. I alreay know the 2016 and up does not match apparently does not have the CD slot from what I can see and the rest 2011 to 2015 all appear the basic same but there are some variations in the front plate there as well.
Thanks for any help!
EDIT: Oh and if I put a Chevy Equinox radio w\MyLink in a Terrain (Intellink) how does that work? Would I get "MyLink" instead of "Intellink"? Or is that part of the "re-program" that tell the radio it is in a GMC so initiate the "intellink" screen?
