    Hi
one of your posts mentioned the following.
    -----------------------------------
    components:
    •The rear differential clutch motor
•The rear differential multi-disc wet clutches
When the torque signal is received, the rear differential control module actuates the following components:
    •The rear differential clutch motor
The hydraulic piston engages the clutch to allow torque to the open differential.
    ----------------------------------------

Are there 2 systems in the AWD coupling, electromagnetic and hydraulic? or is the AWD coupling the good old electromagnetic pilot clutch with ball cam mecahnism, and the hydraulic system you mention,,,, (and is mentioned in all brochures) is that a left to right clutch pack in the actual differential? I cant see any diagrams of a clutch mechanism inside the actual differential. I believe it is purely a standard open diff.

How can a coupling can have both electormagnetic and hydraulic coupling for one purpose.

    thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Posted this message a few days ago. Thought I would contact you direct. I read your post on removing driveshaft from a 2005 AWD. Thought you could give me some insight on the following?

    Removing Driveshaft for Dolly Transport
    Hi,

Just picked up my Terrain a month ago. The dealer said to me that I would be able to tow my 2017 GMC Terrain AWD 2 wheels up. After a month, I decided to read the manual and found that I cannot. All four wheels up or all four down.

I plan on snow birding this winter and once at my destination, will not need to tow any further until our return back home.

    1. Can I tow my AWD on a dolly, 2 wheels up without any damage to my vehicle if the rear driveshaft is removed?
    2. How difficult is it to remove the driveshaft? Something that can be done if the vehicle is driven up on a ramp?
    3. Is it possible to drive the Terrain with the rear driveshaft remove without any damage to the drive train?

    Thanks in advance
    PhanTomiz
