mine does this. especially when it is cold and moist outside. i always assumed it was the serpitine belt. when i get around to it ill probably throw a new one on.
More likely it *is* the belt, but I’ve also seen it be one of the pulleys (Idler, typically). Pressed a new bearing into a couple of them over the years.
+1 I live in michigan and get this chirp every winter season. The lightest shot (use red straw) of wd40 at the base of the idler pulley (opposite end of the belt) temporarily fixes this chirp for a while. Of course be sure not to spray the belt.
Had a similar chirp on mine when engaging the AC. Dealer Changed the belt at 32k. Chirp came back at 75k. Changed belt and tensioner. Still gone at 88k.
I've had luck with prestone "belt ease" spray in the past for squeaky belts
