2015 Equinox Alarm Randomly Goes Off

I own a 2015 Equinox with 100k miles on it. Starting last week, the alarm will randomly go off. There is a single beep, followed by the alarm for about 1 minute. I can turn it off with my remote, but it will repeat the same sequence minutes later or hours later. I was told it could be the car battery so I replaced that - no luck, I thought it could be my remote shorting so I took the batteries out of both - no luck. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to see the DIC message, if any, but I'm hoping to the next time it sounds.

I know there was a problem on older models pertaining to the hood latch. I haven't seen anyone with this issue, however, on any model newer than 2012/3.

I am removing the horn fuse tonight so it doesn't continue to wake my neighbors (#34). I don't believe the alarm has it's own fuse.

Any ideas? TIA

The Theft Deterrent and Immobilizer are two different systems, both controlled by the BCM.
The fuse for the Theft Deterrent system is #4 in the under dash fuseblock.

Some info is available in the Owners Manual.
Page 2-14 and 2-15 in my 2014 Manual.
The two systems have the ability to set a trouble code.

When this happens is your fob in range of the vehicle ? If so I would suspect the fob first. There are fob keypad replacements online cheap, I've redone several of mine in several vehicles for not working, yours could be self triggering as the carbon contact pads in the fobs have a habit of failing.

Not too sure about this gen but i know my 08 has issues with the door harnesses shorting out because theyre too short. Make sure that ALL door electrical functions perform properly- speakers-locks-windows- mirrors- anything and everything. Random, but not a bad start. If the wiring for the door latch sensor is shorting it could be thinking that a door is being opened while armed when in all reality its not.
