Oil for Equinox 2015 2.4

Good day.
Tell me, can I fill Total Energy quartz 9000 5w40 in Equinox 2015 2.4?
Oil with which tolerances and requirements can I pour?

You should refer to your owners manual, but that oil would not be recommended in the USA. The 40w it too thick.

5-40W is a viscosity range of 35, if memory serves me correctly GM warned decades ago against using 10-40W which only has a viscosity range of 30, IDK for sure but would hazard a guess that higher viscosity ranges require more viscosity modifiers leaving less room in the additive pack for detergents, friction modifiers, anti-foam agents, etc.

That viscosity lubricant isn't recommended in a USA spec Equinox 2.4, and I doubt that it would be suitable for yours either.

Is this oil also available in 5W-30 also? If so, I believe this would be a better choice. I see it's available in the USA in this viscosity.

I'm not sure what the specifications are on all of your choices above, but choose a quality name brand, full synthetic, 5W-30 viscosity; and if available, one that has the Dexos1 rating that is specified for the current new GM engines.

It's not as critical what oil you use for the 2.4 engine, as it's not turbocharged. A normally aspirated (non turbo) engine is not as demanding on the engine oil being used. If you change the oil and filter around 5.000 miles or 8.000 km, and keep it at the full mark, you should have no problems with your engine's lubrication needs.

In all of my vehicles listed in my signature below, I use Mobil1, Extended Performance, 5W-30 oil. It is Dexos1 Gen2 certified for the latest model GM engine specifications.

I noticed that the oils you are not selling with us. or sold but with a different name. therefore, it is better to indicate the tolerances and characteristics of your oil. API ACEA. (Compliance

API SM / CF; ACEA A3 / B4

VAG Tolerances

501.01 / 502.00 / 505.00

Porsche Approvals

A40

BMW approvals

Longlife-98 / Longlife-01

Mercedes-Benz Approvals

229.1 / 229.3 / 229.5)
