Post First trip into the dealer sun roof won't open

I thought it would be good idea to share my dealer sun roof experience, Sun roof and shade neither will open. I guess I should be grateful that they chit the bed while closed instead of open? Without information I found on this site it might not have started out as well as it has so thanks to everyone here for sharing and special thanks for posting the TSB's.

First off with the TSB info I requested a loaner and than scheduled my appointment to drop off my Nox this morning at 9am. The dealer provided me a 2019 Nox LT 2wd as my loaner vehicle, this is really the only experience driving the 1.5 motor any distance...and I have to say I'm very impressed with it. The 1.5 along with the 6 speed trans is very suitable.

I received a call at 4pm today from the dealer about 8 hrs after dropping the vehicle off. 1st question dealer asked if I was satisfied with the LT Nox loaner vehicle? I replied yes it's nice and thanks for asking. The dealer informed me they would have my Nox at least until next Tuesday as the roof repair was going to be requiring GM technical direction/approval? I asked if the headliner was going to be removed and they said it was very likely.

Keeping my fingers crossed that this repair & experience remains positive as I have not made a new vehicle purchase since 1990 and now I am really 2nd guessing myself ...

More to come...

Greg

Hopefully a good outcome for the sun roof repair.

That reminds me that I should try the sun roof on my 2016 Equinox before the bumper to bumper runs out in July; don't believe that I've ever opened it yet.

My 2019 Redline doesn't have/not available sun roof.

Question

We got the Nox back, everything works like it should shade & sunroof.

The dealer said all they had to do was reprogram it, they had no reason for why...?

Keeping our fingers crossed cause this sure ain't giving me a warm fuzzy feeling

What year was your equinox? I'll see if there was a firmware update that addresses it.

I was on Tapatalk on my phone. It didn't show me his signature.

However, I checked and GM hasn't issued an update yet for the sunroof that's controlled via your BCM.

Sorry to hear about the experience, I sure like the new panoramic roof they offer. Hope it's fixed right and works well from now on.

I test drove a Rav 4 a couple of months ago and we tried the roof and it jammed and they had to take that one into service. As much as I hear Toyota never has issues, it has issues. Just go to a toyota owner page and read the issues. The lot was full of issues waiting for service. So the Rav4 is a nice vehicle but it is LOUD (as many reviewers and test drivers will say). I thought it was overpriced for the $39,900 price tag and they don't discount like Chevy does.
