Yes it is but you cant seem to turn it off and just use the regular cruise if you wanted to, all you need is somebody doing 80k in front of you and the left lane bandit doing 85 k to drive you nuts. If you get snow on the front corner the lidar does not work and all the system shuts down. I know you would be wondering why use cruise in the snow but where I live, snow is on the ground for half the year with the other half being two months of bad skiing weather. The other nice thing about adaptive is the bugwit deciding to take the exit lane at the last minute and slowing right down on the right lane and then watch your red display start flashing and warning.
I have a 2019 Terrain and the adaptive cruise control can be turned off and the regular cruise will be operational. I would suspect you can do the same with your vehicle as they should use the sytem, as it is a GM product. I might be assuming here, but it would seem logical.

Your owner's manual should explain how to, if indeed it is the same system.

Thanks I will look into that. This is for an 18 Terrain so maybe they listened and got it fixed on the 19. I guess they sort of overlooked the autostop button lol

I recently traded in my FWD 2015 Equinox LTZ (6) for a 2019 AWD Premier (2.0L). Lots of improved (and new) features in the 2019. Most improved is the camera system. The camera resolution much improved. And just considering the backup camera (which is all the 2015 had) my biggest issue was the time it took for the camera in the 2015 to appear on the screen. Several seconds. The camera views pop immediately when the 2019 is put in reverse.

No issues or complaints about the Premier so far. Well one: I can't figure out how to remotely open the windows using the remote (you hold down the unlock button the the key farb and the windows will fully open). I believe my model has this feature, but since I have not yet found it on the Vehicle menu (to activate it), perhaps it does not.

to remotely open the windows you have to activate it in the vehicle settings on the radio display... it may be under climate control options my 2018 lt has it so i know the premeir does, it was turned off by default

Does your umbrella fall out when you stop fast?

Easy fix is a ''pool Noodle" from the dollar store.

Cut it just to fit (about 7 in) Taper the leading end to a 45 degree wedge point and shave the rest just enough of for a TIGHT fit.

Do you need more leg room? The dead peddle can be removed. Unfortunately it takes a lot of work to get the rug to lie flat but it is worth it if you are over 6'

The only easy work around for stop/start is to put the shifter in L and tap the + button till the display under the gauges goes to L9. Because you are not in the D position stop/start will not activate. From what I understand L would normally limit the number of gears used but if you bump it all the way to L9 it operates just like it would in D.

Note: I just paid over a grand to have the starter and second battery replaced on my 2015 Malibu because of stop/start. There goes all the savings in gas and then some. All stop/start did was run up a big bill later.

And there, my friends, is my objection to the Start/Stop feature!

This is one reason for objecting to Start/Stop. Another is shutting down a hot turbo engine repeatedly; with no oil or coolant circulating. What engineer thought that this would be a good idea?

Exclamation

There are so many obvious reasons to abort the start stop feature the list is endless... ... . . ...

What is really difficult to witness the amount of ignorance posted about the feature like sheep they come to defend the option like somehow this feature will do no harm and also how it's not that bad and I can get used to it!

I suppose you could also get used to the smell of chit if ya had no choice but I'll never try to convince someone how it's not that bad

It's a shame that this start stop feature was ever considered...yet alone implemented
