Question 2 odd starts with our 19 Nox 2.0T?

Twice now in the last 3 days I have noticed the Nox have extended cranking time...it's kinda hard to explain. Normal cold starts it only cranks for maybe a sec or at most 2 and it starts instantly. These last couple odd starts it cranked for like 4 maybe 5 seconds before it starts? This is my wife's car so I don't normally drive it only on the weekends and she normally auto starts it from her phone or the key fob. Anyone else experiencing this? I have read about a batch of bad batteries maybe this is how they fail?

We will surely be taking it back to the dealer if this continues just wanted to share and see if anyone else has experiences similar.

We have about 5k miles so far on our Nox.

TIA
Greg

mine has done it 4-5 times over the course of 18 months itís random and doesnít seem to be caused by any certain situation it did it 2 times the first couple days of ownership and only a few times since. when i asked the dealership they didnít have an explanation just that some of them randomly do that but itís not causing any issues

Is it that the engine is cranking at a slower rpm, or the cranking speed is normal and just taking longer to fire and run?

I haven't had this issue yet with my 2.0; it starts as soon as cranking commences.

It's difficult to determine as it surely is unexpected...cranking speed might be a tad slow but it almost seems like the motor could be running and the starter does not disengage but I'm not 100% confident I've only had it happen twice

1st time I started it while we were approaching the vehicle in a parking garage, so I asked my wife did you hear that? She said yes that must had been another car starting, right? I said ok maybe

2nd time I was setting in the vehicle and used the dash button, so without a doubt I new it was my vehicle that had again did the same extended cranking before it started.

I'm very anal about mechanical functions and if the dealer thinks that this is gonna get passed off as the norm I'll be sure to get it documented in writing, cause there ain't nothing normal about it.

Take it to the dealer so it is documented. They are looking into the issue as per this document on GMSI.

Winter gas in spring weather may cause slight vapor lock . If it only happens in the early Spring warm weather that could be the cause.

This has happened to me twice since owning mine since September. Both times i was inside the vehicle and it took about 5 seconds or so before the car started. The second time it did it i turned it right back off and started it again and it fired right up like normal.

It's happened to me 4 or 5 times in 17 months. A couple times I stopped it and and it started normally when I restarted.
