It's not for sale yet. Honda says "early 2019" release. Some promotional info available, Google "2019 Honda Passport".

There are many offline maps for cellphones. If you phone has GPS you can download them and use them. The only thing you won't get is a re-route if there is accident if you don't have cell coverage.

I believe the map system in the New Terrain and Equinox that is on the SDCard is by Here. Not positive but its looking like this might be a easily updatable system in the future, and be done for free. Need to look at sdcard in computer and see what it is actually using.

To clarify-I never said it was a 2019 Passport. I just said my friend had a passport. His is a 2017. That's why I was saying I hope they have improved them in the new ones. From what I'm hearing, I'm glad I'm not using the GM system, haha. I think making people pay for the GPS updates is seriously lame.

There is no 2017 Passport. Honda discontinued the last-generation Passport in 2002 but will be reintroducing a completely new Passport in early 2019. Were you perhaps referring to the 2017 Pilot?

Wow, I REALLY messed that one up. Yes, the PILOT. All of these car names start to run together after you've looked at so many. Now I need to go look up the Passport to see what that is.

Wow, I was just in my 2019 premier to set up the navigation with a couple of addresses and i was having a hard time. I am in the 3 month free period and on march 29 i will pay on star for the year. I called on star from the car to find out why i have a problem. Like others have stated, i think they made this nav system harder to use than what I had in my 2016, 2013 and 2011 equinox's. The operator said you have to input the address on your phones chevy app and send it to the car. But he also said the nav is tied into on star so if you don't buy the service you have no nav. If this is true then GM bamboozled us. Also, i may have missed it, but i do not see an icon that says HOME. Then he asked if i wanted to use a hotspot-which i will not pay for on top of everthing else. I think on star and Gm figured out a way to get get mor money out of buyers.
I may just go back and lay the old garmin on top of the dash and use that.
Then I came back in the house and saw all these negative posts and i felt good==lol

why use a garmin? Android auto or Applecar play should work fine, you just have to plug the phone in.

joe, i was never sure about the android auto. in order to use that and waze don't i need to sign up with on star for the hot spot?

also can i sit in the house and enter addresses from the my chevy app and enter more than 1 at a time or do i do this one at a time in the car?
all this tech stuff gets harder for us old guys.

You don't have to use the phone app but it's a lot faster to enter a address that way.

I do not pay for OnStar and I have Navigation.

I entered my home location as 1Home so it's at the top of my Destination list.

If you have you phone connected to the car by Bluetooth the Navigation will see your phone contact list.
