help with problem for truck

Can you help me finding out the problem to this* truck

I have a 2010 Cadillac SRX as I was driving the truck on 11/28/18 the engine light came on, and the engine power is reduced came which allow me to go only 20 mph and it was shaken and sounding like there was a misfire I pull over shut the truck off check the oil and it was low that i hath to put 2 quarts in the engine, after that i start it and nothing change so i drove home which was 40 minute ride on my way I stop and had someone to run a check and the code came up was P2135 and U0100 then drove home.

11/29/18 Next morning I went start it and the engine power is reduced light did not come back on only the engine light, so I drove it and before i made it to the car repair shop all the lights was out and no problem, so the car repair shop was not able to run a diagnosis but i just got a oil change 7 hours later about the same time on 11/28/18 the engine light came back on and*the engine power is reduced light came on and I loss power again driving up to 25 mph so i stop for about 15 minute started the truck back up and the*the engine power is reduced light was off* truck has power just that the engine light is still on, drove the truck for about 20 minute and the engine light went out.

11/30/2018* NO problem

12/1/18 in the morning driving the truck for about 4 miles**

the engine light came on, and the engine power is reduced came which allow me to go only 20 mph again, i took it immediately* to the car repair shop the mechanic ran the test it came up misfire so he clear it so he could run the test again after clearing* the engine light, the truck ran good no more problem and no lights and he was not able to get any more reading.* so i left going back to work 3 hours later* the engine light came on, and the engine power is reduced came on which allow me to go only 20 mph so I pull over cut the truck off for 15 minute turn truck back on, only the engine light is on, so i drove it and after 20 minute made a stop then back in the truck after* started it up again the engine light did not come on for the rest of the evening.

If it was just the P2135 code I’d say try replacing the TPS sensor(s) .... (does that require replacing the entire Throttle Body on that vehicle ?), but with that U0100 code it almost sounds like there could be a network communication issue that’s causing these symptoms.

I see one truck owner online with the P2135 code who had been replacing parts and wasn’t able to fix the problem for two years!

Welcome to the 2010 Cadillac SRX ownership. Fellow 2010 SRX owner here. So far for that awesome P2135 code on the CEL I have replaced a complete TB. The TPS is built onto the TB, so it's easy just to replace the whole TB. Cost me $125 thru www.carparts.com and it was a brand new BOSCH.
The reduced engine power mode is what I gather is known as limp mode. Yeah it sucks. Even after I replaced the whole TB the P2135 came on recently.

I've been told there is another TPS sensor mounted on the gas pedal as well. Try replacing that.

Really sticks to think that GM can't even get it right on the "flagship".

Ever talk to someone who owned a Lincoln? They are real "flag Ships". Owners should carry a pennant to flag down some one for help when they're broken down somewhere.

I guess that is why the sales numbers for Lincoln and Cadillac are so poor. The premium price is not justified with premium quality.

I used to have a 1997 Volvo 850GLT, was one of the best cars that I've ever owned. All I did was change the oil and tires and a timing belt when I first bought her. Put 275000 miles on her and I picked her up with 96,000 miles. And then when she finally started giving me problems, I went to homegrown. Have to give GM one plus point. Their marketing dept is one of the best. Every where you see someone drives a Cadillac. One of the worst cars in the world.
I'm stuck with mine for another 5 years till the payments are paid off, but I think I'll go back to European.

Now I have a P0455 code, hopefully soon that too will be fixed. O'Reilly Auto got me the wrong part. An AC Delco part is on its way to me.
So far I've changed a throttlebody/TPS. Three Purge Valve Solenoids for a P0422 code, now the P0455. New brakes/calipers, a timing chain for a P0017 code due to a bad batch of timing chains by GM in 2009-2011. Hoping after the newest issue is fixed she runs trouble free for 1 year at least. LOL.

Ohh and one more thing, @fergie59 If you google Cadillac SRX roof leaks, there are 300,000 owners in California with a pending class action suit vs GM for that issue. Hope your 2010 SRX never has a roof leak. Mine did. Again, all the best!!
