Non working "insert image" button in posts

I started a build log post in the audio forum, can be found here, and the insert image tags aren't working. I have all the pics saved on my own server at roughly 800x600, is this too big for some reason to use the feature?I couldn't find anything about pic size requirements in a forum search. I will try to use the tag to add a pic at the end of this post, but I'm guessing it's not going to work either. EDIT: Nope, pic not showing after posting. But the link shows up when I came back to edit this.

So I found this by looking at the mobile site today. There are badges in the mobile site that are not there on the full desktop site. On mine in this thread it actually said "blocked" in another thread we were testing in it says "broken" so I'm not sure what's going on.

If you are attempting to insert an image, you need to use an image hosting site. This example is a direct link copy/paste from imgur; an image hosting website.

Well if the link option requires a third party host, then I guess I won't use it. I have my own server. I wouldn't be loading the pics to another site when they're already on my server. I've been using vBulletin forums for a long time, and have never had an issue using that function with images on my server. It should technically be no different than using an image host site.

Hello there,

The site you're linking to isn't using HTTPS. Images hosted on sites not using HTTPS will not show on sites using HTTPS as Chrome, Firefox, Safari etc will block them as it sees them as a security risk. Try using a site like Imgur for hosting your images. Imgur uses HTTPS so images hosted there will show fine.

Thanks for the tip. I'm not going to move all those pics to another server just for a forum post. I made a server change on my end, and it shows it working on my machine now. My server is shared hosting so it's also a shared SSL. Maybe I'll look into the possibility of dedicated SSL, but this is the first time I've needed it on this portion of my server.

All HTTPS/Browsers will block HTTP content unless you allow it in your browser (IE asks if you want to allow mixed content) so the change will be necessary eventually, or using a different hosting site.

You can also upload the images directly with the attachment manager and embed them into your posts.
