What was wrong with the Equinox 2.0L ?
And. . . how much? Inquiring minds you know . . .
I got this upscale and stately $41,000 GMC Acadia for just under $31,000.

How do you like the 3.6L V6 compared to the premium eating 2.0L I4?

The 2.0 has more torque down low
And. . . how much? Inquiring minds you know . . . The Blazer RS list is $51,450
I got .$2500 cash allowance on my Blazer plus $6,000 negotiation from dealer, $400 GM card.So that's $8900 and no dock fees, they gave me $1000 less for the nox then I paid for it

The 3.6 Blazer is much quieter.

Sounds like you got a great deal! $1000 depreciation is terrific--and must mean that you got a tremendous deal on the 'Nox, which carried thru to the Blazer. Congratulations on your negotiating skills!

GMs sticker prices are outrageously high on SUVs IMHO. Then, they tend to discount them down to the level that they should sell at.

So I was WAY off ... about $5,500 off!

$51,450-$8500 = $42950 ... ($42450 OTD after GM dollars)

YIKES! That's almost $15,000 above and beyond the outlay for the 2019 Silver Redline Nox, or about a 50% increase!

The profit margins on these new Blazers must be pretty good right now...

Especially since all of the Blazer's are sourced from Mexico; the profit margin would be quite substantial.

Agree! That's marketing 101.

Make the consumer perceive that they are really getting a deal, when in fact they are getting what is a fair market price for the vehicle that is discounted.

The problem with that marketing strategy is; no one will ever purchase a vehicle from that manufacturer without incentives and discounts, and will put off purchasing until there is a substantial savings.

I purchased my 2019 Equinox Redline last October, soon after the new models were released; my incentive to purchase was 23% off MSRP. In June of this year, I saw the same vehicle selling for $9,000 off MSRP.

My point is I perceived that I was getting a great deal at that time and made the purchase; It would been even better had I waited a few more months.

It can work both ways. Back in June there was a total or +$10,000 off the GMC Acadia we bought with MSRP of $40,785.

I just checked on one (different color still in stock) of the same SLT-1 Acadias we considered and the incentive is only $8,600 off MSRP.
Here below is what it was back in June when they sent me a quote. NOTE - -> there also was an $816 GM Loyalty incentive back in June that now is gone.
