Re: Price paid for the Equinox

I see some have posted used prices so I will share to help others looking for used Equinox. Please note I am in Canada so all prices CAD.

Purchase Date Aug 12, 2016
Car Dealership incl city/state CarOne Kingston, ON (division of Kingston Nissan)
Model Year 2013 with 75,846km
Trim Level 2LT 1SC AWD V6
MSRP $38,900 (original window sticker in glove box)
Invoice $17,999 (from my research this was @ $3,000 CAD under market value or my area)
Incentives received Free oil changes for life ($1,000 value) Note- I drive 60/70,000km per year, this will be 5-6 oil changes per year or more. I will benefit a LOT more than $1,000 but that is what they charge for the package, I got them to throw it in.
Price Paid after incentives

I also purchased a very comprehensive extended warranty for $4,500. Seems like a lot at first glance but this is for 5 years UNLIMITED mileage. Keeping in mind I will likely put 300/400,000 km on it during the 5 years and that it is ZERO deductible if I take it to the dealer I bought it from ($100 if other) and it covers the usual items plus all the electronics I am pretty happy with it. I have had poor experiences with extended warranties in the past so researched this pretty thoroughly. I was not going to buy a warranty until I checked this one out.

Thx!

Actually got to use my warranty today. Had the LF wheel bearing replaced, it did not make noise but rather had a bad wheel encoder. So ABS, Stabilitrack and AWD were all not working. Only $4100 in repairs to go until I start profiting from my investment LOL

BTW, just over 138,000km for that first defective bearing
