Buy a Terrain??

I am currently looking to buy a Terrain.. Going from a F-150 to any other car or SUV is going to be hard for me. So, I want to know what you guys and gals think of your rides.. I4? V6? AWD? FWD? MPG? Live in South Jersey, last years winter was CRAZY but I doubt it will ever happen again. Any info to help with my decision would be great.

Re: Buy a Terrain??

I have about 6.5K miles on my Equinox. It has an I4, FWD, and I live in Upstate NY. I haven't had it in Winter yet, but plan to use snow tires to cover the snow. My average MPG has been about 28.5, with about 75% highway. Would I do it again - in a heartbeat. Would I change my order - nope.

Hope this help. BTW, it is more car then truck, so keep that in mind.

Re: Buy a Terrain??

Hey another Jersey folk, where abouts in jersey are you? I have the I4 AWD Nox, bought it around July 09 just in time for our crazy winter. AWD for the winter and beach driving in the summer, I4 because I do a ton of driving so ever mpg helps.

It will be a big change from a full size truck, that's for sure..but you have to weigh the benefits of having a smaller vehicle that not only gets great gas mileage, but is also easier to maneuver and park than a full size SUV/truck.

Re: Buy a Terrain??

Get the V6 and AWD and you will never regret having them... not having those options like a snowstorm, etc. will be a good reminder why not..
Unless $$ is a huge concern for you don't go for the 4 banger, this is a heavy car for the small engine.. (In my opinion) and coming from a F150 you'll want to get out and kick it..

Like the fashion guy said (can't remember his name), buy the best and you'll cry only once ...

Re: Buy a Terrain??

I got the V6 AWD on Feb 9th, that night we had a major snow storm in central NJ.
It drove great in the snow, didn't get stuck any where.
I do lots of driving (over 21k miles already) and I prefer more power then worry about a couple of MPG
