2017 Equinox rear hatch closure center issue

Hey, this part on my Equinox is noticeably coming off of the rear hatch. Is there anyway to get it to stick back on or do I need a new one?

GM Part No.: 23324183
Applique Kit-Rear Closure Center W/License Plate Lamp

Wow! Coming off already on a 2017?!?!??

My 2011 is still good! Helm Manual says this thing is held on with (4) nuts and some tape. It says you have to remove the lift gate panel on the inside (remove a rectangular plastic cap, revealing a single Phillips screw, then a trim panel removal tool to pry the panel off). Then the (4) nuts and tape holding the appliqué on.

Sounds like you just need to remove and replace the tape?

Garage
stick some 3m double sided body tape behind it. That stuff is crazy strong. You'll be able to pick the vehicle up by that trim piece

Not sure, but probably I’d rather fix it myself to save the hassle of taking it in.

I had to replace the gasket for mine. Couldn't buy just it so I used a roll of "D" shaped weather stripping from Lowe's. At least that's what I recall it was, in the same section at least. Had sticky on one side so I put it on the trim, bolted it back. Water tight and keeps it from rubbing the paint off, which leads to rust.
