Does any special coverage exist for the V6 timing chains?

Asking for my neighbor.

Her and I bought our Terrains a couple months apart. She has had 0 issues with hers (except the door hem corrosion) But last week her check engine light came on and it was diagnosed as the timing chain. The dealership the told her there was no coverage for the V6, that the TSB was only for the 4cyl. (she went and had the repairs done at an independent shop for less that what the dealership had quoted) Her Terrain has less than 80,000KM on it.

Is it true that its only on the 4cyl?

She's a little old lady in her late 70's and is the best neighbor any one could ask for so I'd love to give her good news if possible.

You know- the 2007-2009 Acadia/Traverse/Outlook/Enclaves got extended warranties (10 yr/120,000 miles) on the timing chains--- these use the 3.6.

Though the notice does not include the Equinox/Terrain.

Sorry.

Sorry.

Thanks! I was pretty sure that it was only the 4's. She knew that I had mine done under warranty so she asked if I knew if hers was included. The dealer said no, but I honestly only trust them as far as I can throw them

This is the first thing mechanical issue she has had, otherwise her Terrain has been gold.

She has been eyeballing my new nox since I got it..I have a feeling she may upgrade soon.

These kits should be used on vehicles covered under the terms of the Powertrain Warranty coverage, Special Coverage terms. Please do not order or use parts separately while repairing a vehicle covered by warranty.

Does the 3.4 also use a timing chain?
