We just had an oil change (Castrol Synthetic) recently (4 - 6 weeks ago??) and I think we're still around 17.5 MPG if memory serves. Suburbs/city driving 95%. Both of us are leadfoots, LOL! Mostly 87 octane gas (95% of the time, when it's low price I'll throw in some 89 or 91/92 octane for giggles). Probably average 600 miles/month.
Odometer probably around 4800 miles. Will check on the weekend and post back.
Just checked, we're at 17.4 MPG. MPG calculator has never been reset. So, it's pretty much as advertised by GM and overall we are very impressed with everything about the Terrain.

I have a book I use to enter miles between fillups/gals. of gas/cast per gal/total cost/ and MPG. I have done that ever since I got out of the service where I had to do that daily. Habbits are hard to break. My Aztek got the same milage. In the winter I would get anywhere from 14 to 16 mpg and in the summer I would get 17 to 18 mpg on suburban driving. Highway I would get in the upper 20's. Now that summer is almost here, maybe I'll get better milage....if I could just learn to keep my speeds down. LOL

awd v6 slt1 here,
I have only burned 3 tanks of gas the dic read 22 for the first tank, doing the math it was really 21 something. The 2nd tank read right at 20 this was close enough for govt work. the third tank was 18 . Most of the first 2 tanks were highway the last tank was alot of inter city driving. So far I cant complain

Less than 1000 miles on it so far and still breaking in... mainly city/suburb driving, no big road trips yet to Maine.... high teens on DIC avg mpg since it was picked up...

Wow, eye opener today. Checked the computer and it showed 17.2 MPG average, however it's ALL been city (suburbia) driving since last report. Computer has never been reset since new. Maybe the recent heat wave/humidity has something to do with it as well? We're @ around 9300 kM on the odometer.

DIC shows average MPG of 19.2 at 2300 miles... it was reset soon after we took delivery. Mostly suburbia driving with a few highway trips thrown in for good measure...MPG is improving and engine is beginning to come into it's own after the break-in period. No big highway trips yet...

Well, my estimated gas milage of 17mpg was way off. After 11 tankfuls I'm averaging 15.13 mpg. Lowest was 14.2 mpg and highest was 15.8 mpg. I do have a tendency to race other SUV's so it's really no surprise. I think most of the low milage is due to me accelerating past idiots on cell phones.....I want to stay as far away from those people as I can.....and there are a lot of 'um. I am a little dissapointed with the milage since I was getting 17/18 on average with my 6 cyl. Aztek driving the same way. Right now I wished I'd held out for my original choice of the 4 cyl., but momma wanted this one and you know what that means.

When I first got my Terrain I used to reset the counter at every fill up (approx every other day) then I got the idea to let it run longer so I reset it on May 1st when I got into my car and went for a month straight and reset it again on June 1st...
The month of May I did as follows: 2497.7 miles 18.9 mpg (from the in dash counter) Average speed: 31.4 mph
The month of June I did: 2737.2 miles 18.3 mpg (from the in dash counter) Average speed: 30.3 mph
I did a lot of idling in these 2 months thats why I believe its a bit lower then it should be.

The DIC info average milage is useless. The only way you're going to get your actual mpg is to set your trip meter to zero then when you fill up take that total milage and devide it by the number of gallons you pump in. I'm getting 14/15 mpg, but the DIC says I'm getting 21.4 average mpg. I've been monitoring my mpg in my vehicles for the last 40 years. A habit I picked with my jeep in the Marines.
This misinformation is why I don't trust the oil life monitor on the DIC.

We got 23.2 on a 800 mile trip when the Terrain had only 350 miles at the start of the trip. We also just returned from a 2000 mile trip pulling our 1800 lb Scamp travel trailer and averaged 16.5. We feel good about both averages as the Terrain and trailer were loaded pretty heavily and the trip was through hilly country. Very pleased with all aspects of our Terrain and the engine has more torque as it gets miles on it.

Mileage Update All: I've had my SLT-2 Terrain (V6 AWD) for 6 months now and I just got back from another trip up to Maine (5 hr drive once again). I had a light load with both seats in the down position (about 600 lbs) worth of cargo and I averaged 27mpg. On the way back to Massachusetts without a cargo load I got 28.2 mpg. Both up and back were 95% cruise control set to 68mph. Regular unleaded 87 octane gas (Gulf up and Citgo back)
I'm loving this Terrain - it's rugged enough to handle to backwoods of Maine and a pleasure to drive on pavement.

Would be interested in what you would get on one of these runs similarly loaded, but not using cruise control. I would imagine that getting on & off the gas would lower the fig. vs cruise control LW4T
