Figured it was a Holden.  Awesome!

Everyone bad-mouths the 3.0 but it's just fine for me... especially with a few miles on it, it loosens up nicely!

Because they are confused wtih 3.6 LUV......I'm happy w/ the 3.0. I'm getting great MPG's at cruise (higher than sticker), have had the engine/tranny retuned to my liking, have torque down @ 3k rpms (simlar to holdens 3.0 @ 2900rpms with a flat cruve from 3k-5.8k and pull HP numbers all the way new shiftpoint of 7.1K)

7.1K?  I must drive like an old granny because I rarely need to bring it up past 5.  I should make an effort to take it all the way up for proper engine break-in.

Hey 2010BlkGraniteNox - May I ask where you got your tail lights done?  Did you do it yourself, or did you get them done somewhere?  I asked the place where I got my front windows tinted about doing them and they just shrugged and said it would be really difficult to bend the material around all the curves in the light.  He offered suggestions such as cutting out the two circular pieces (which it looks like yours has on the top circle at least), doing half of the light with one peice and the other half with another piece but then there would be a line, or using some spray on stuff...I really like the look of yours and would like to do mine, but maybe not quite as dark.

I did them myself...but its not film because of the curves of the light. VHT works wonders and will last for years if done properly

Ok nice!  So did you do everything except the white circle?  It kind of looks that way... Thanks for the response!

The circle is the back-up lights...I like having those BRIGHT, and have LED's installed in them. I've done the entire assly before, both with film or vht, I've always found having good back-up lights is important. For brake lights and rear lights, the light is plenty. When I go to reverse I do not mind if I blind somone Smiley

Just tape around the back-up part if you wish, or you can tint those as well. This is 3 coats of VHT done per instructions. Just make sure to lightly sand the assly before you paint, and clean with good cleaner to remove any wax or dust (I usually use rubbing alcohol with a microfiber rag to accomplish this).

If we had a better differently designed tail light assly, I would've used window tint....but too many "odd" shapes, the film would never sit right Sad

Thanks for the detailed instructions/suggestions!  I knew that the white circle was the reverse light, I was just wondering if you had taped it off when you applied the spray.  I'm not sure if I will tint the whole thing or leave my reverse light alone... My boyfriend is awesome at that kind of stuff so I will let him take care of the sanding and the taping and the spraying haha.  I will post pictures whenever I get around to doing it!

I hear you on the design...I asked the guy who tinted my windows about it and he said the same thing you did.  The circular shapes would make it impossible to stretch the film around and actually have it look decent in the end.

Np...and hope they turn out great for you! Sanding will help it last for years, have your BF use very fine grit!

And do not forget the 3rd light Smiley....I have 5 coats on that one, its very dark Smiley
